Mission: Episode 10 - Symposium
Location: USS Galileo - Duval's Quarters
Timeline: MD82 - 0800Hrs

Warrant Officer 2nd Class Anthony Duval did not have a working computer in his quarters, it was distracting so he had go to eat dinner in the small mess hall rather then in his quarters as he preferred.

He tapped his combadge. "Duval to Operations?"

The Chief had arrived to the station, but as she was still settling in, Noah had taken up overseeing the Operations department for the time being. Now as he went through the reports on hand, his concentration was broken by an incoming call. Reaching out, Noah opened the link. "Khoroushi here. How may I help you ..." He paused, noting the read out. "Warrant.

"The computer in my quarters isn't working... I was able to fix the replicator and the shower myself but the computer doesn't want to work..." Duval explained. "I'm one of the new Engineers aboard."

Noah perked up a bit at that - he could definitely do something about that. "Are you in your quarters now?" He pulled up the Warrant's information to get his deck listing. "I can be there in three minutes - five at most."

Duval nodded. "I am yes." he answered evenly. "You know where my quarters are?" he inquired, mostly just to be sure.

"Yes, sir." His words were slightly distracted as Noah worked on closing out his other tasks for later. "06-1002 EN, correct?" Finishing up, he snagged his diagnostic and a spare PADD." I'll be there shortly."

Duval winced as he hated being called 'sir.' as he nodded. "Yeah. thats my address..."

Heading out, Noah arrived to the Warrant's quarters within the promised time and pressed the chime.

Duval was doing a quick inventory of his head. "Its Open!" he called out.

Touching the door, Noah felt it give beneath his fingers and slide open to reveal a ... rather spartan interior. It was clear the Warrant wasn't one for anything fancy by any means. Stepping inside, his eyes slid over the interior in search of the man himself. Surprisingly, the Warrant was somewhat smaller than Noah had anticipated. He was definitely of a stockier build - with a good deal more muscle - but he was a few inches shorter than Noah when he rose to his feet. "Lieutenant Khorushi. It's good to meet you, Warrant." He offered a hand to shake.

"Anthony Duval." he gently shook the mans hand, he was taller then Duval had expected but he was also thinner. Duval indicted the issue. "Its right over there." he explained.

Making his way to the computer in question, Noah sat down and attached the diagnostic tool to begin its scan. "From what I understand, the ship had to go through a complete overhaul. There will probably be several things pop up here and there that were missed." It was par for the course, really. Shipyard crews cared about the big picture and seldom paid much notice to the smaller details. "I gather you're familiar with that, though. You mentioned the shower and replicator - would you like me to give the place a once-over to see if anything else needs attention?"

Duval watched the taller man go about his work. "I read what was not classified about this ships last mission. I was on the Tempest when she ran across you guys...." he smiled. "I was part of the original damage control efforts."

Running a check on the main systems for the quarters, Noah glanced up. "Oh, I'm new to the Galileo, actually. I've been on the station for a couple months, waiting for the crew to arrive. I'm afraid I am about as knowledgeable of the past mission as you." His PADD picked up a few inconsistencies and Noah set about straightening things out. "I gather it was rather bad, though."

"Yeah.. the ship was been crippled.. Not sure by what but... I have my guesses..." Duval answered. "My guys and I were encouraged to not talk about it." he shrugged. "I was there to work. not socialize... y'know?"

"I do." His tone was a bit more subdued - in part because his focus was divided and in part ... to be honest, it struck too close to home for him. "I'm sure they appreciated the assist, though."

"They did." Duval responded evenly, but he caught the subtle hint that something was bothering the other guy all of a sudden. He decided not to ask.

When the Console gave the tone to indicate it had finished its reboot, Noah moved back over to walk it through the start-up. After some time, the system came to life. "Alright. It's ready for you to log in and set your credentials." Standing, he moved back to offer the chair to the Warrant.

"Thanks." Duval responded. "Help yourself to the replicator if you want anything." he responded while he went over to the station, he tapped in his name and passcode. then he tapped 'sign in.' "Alright. lets see if this works."

"Error, User not found." came the response on the screen.

"Yeah... I thought so." Duval responded.

Noah hadn't moved far; now he groaned. "Lovely." Keying to another screen on his PADD, Noah pulled up a schematic of the oncoming officers. "I've seen this happen before; the docking system sets up their own codes for the system - especially for new-oncomers - and never takes into account what is already there to start-with. Try this instead." He gave the Warrant his PADD with the information required.

Duval gently accepted the PADD from Noah. Then he began keying in the information. "Access granted. Welcome Anthony Duval."

"Ahh, much better. Thanks Noah." Duval responded.

"Thank providence, though I'm glad to be of assistance," Noah offered. "I swear, I've come upon this problem or a variant of it more times than I can count on this ship, and I've only been in office a handful of days."

"Sounds like the computer needs a good cleaning out." Duval responded with a soft sigh. "Which... would be annoying and fun at the same time."

"Which ... would be a headache for Engineering. "If there's anything I can do to help, let me know."

"No worries... I will... thanks." Duval responded. "I'd got duty in fifteen minutes." the man picked up the base like it weighed nothing. "I take everything I need with me."

"Alright then." Stepping back to give the man room, Noah inclined his head. "Well, I'll leave you to it, then. Pleasure to assist, Warrant. Hope to see you again ... without the need to fix more uncooperative equipment."

"We can hope so." Duval responded with a smile. "Same goes for me, you need anything fixed, call me.. your friendly neighborhood repair man."

Noah chuckled. "That works for me!"
