K'os lay flopped on the top bunk, one leg draped over the side. His eyes stared at the ceiling as he lost himself in his thoughts. He allowed the free flow of feelings, and images of memories to rattle around inside his mind. The intense sounds, colours and smells it produced in his senses was intoxicating, but more importantly it drowned out thoughts of Ellsworth. He still had close to an hour or so before he had to start Alpha shift, but he couldn't sleep. A chirp from the door chime tugged at his awareness and he guided the images and feelings out of his head with a gentle push of his willpower. Suddenly he remembered who might be at the door. It certainly wasn't Ellsworth; K'os would have sensed him if he were close. It was most likely his new roommate, who was scheduled to move in today. K'os jumped down from the top bunk. He wore simple black cotton sweat pants, barefoot and with a thin grey v-neck t-shirt.

"Come in!" He shouted towards the door. The voice prompt issued the unlock command and the door swished open. K'os began quickly gathering up his PADDS and books from the shared desk. "Sorry, I forgot you were coming. I was just cleaning up." K'os by now had a large armful of PADDS, textbooks, coloured pens and a sketchbook as he turned towards the open door.

After being stationed in some temporary quarters, Doyle was finally glad to get his own space, or so he thought. When he signed up, he wasn't quite aware just how close the quarters were. The door did not open for him instantly, pressing the chime seemed like a logical idea, maybe someone was still fixing the place for him, he didn't expect a roommate. Peeking his head in, he answered, "Doyle McAdams, your new roommate...I guess." As yet he was less than impressed, Doyle was a stickler for neat and tidy. Dressed in some very casual wear, dark jeans and a tight fitting black t-shirt (usually his bar attire as well) he plopped down the bag he was carrying over his shoulder.

K'os had only taken a moment to put his things away before turning towards his roommate, and his rounded eyebrows raised almost right off his face when he saw a tall broad-shouldered man standing in the middle of the room. He gave no thought to striding over and extending his hand, if only to get a closer look. After he shook his hand K'os casually jammed his hands in his back pocket. He rocked back and forth on his heels a couple times with a dumb pursed lipped smile seemingly plastered on his face. He realized just before the silence would have gotten awkward when he blurted out, "K'os". He pronounced it like 'coast' without the 't'. "K'os Beaumont."

"Nice to meet you K'os," Doyle smiled, feeling a little perplexed as to what to say next. "I'm the new mixologist for the bar," he continued to smile, a little awkwardly.

"A civilian, then? That's neat." Giddiness sort of took over in K'os' mind and the half-Vulcan who seemed mildly manic at the best of times suddenly motioned towards the bunks. "I took the top bunk, but I can do top or bottom. It doesn't matter to me. Whatever you prefer really. I work alpha shift but I don't sleep a lot, so don't feel bad about making noise when you come home. I assume you work beta shift?" The words all sort of tumbled out a little quickly.

"Yeah, Beta shift for me," Doyle's puzzlement continued, he put it down to his flirtatious/dirty mind, he could have seen a potential pick up line in there, too many bunks for his liking. "I can do bottom bunk, I usually prefer that anyway," Doyle smiled.

Oblivious to any flirtatious thoughts or behaviours, K'os blundered on rapidly. "Are there any boundaries you'd like me to respect? Like keeping bathroom towels folded over the SF logo or under? Keeping certain replicator functions as default? Pressure settings to leave the sonic shower on? Nightwalking adventures that I'll have to prevent you from? Certain colours or sounds I should avoid? Food allergies?" K'os found his eyes take in Doyle's clothes for the first time. He tried not to linger too long on the tight shirt he wore and instead motioned his hand towards the rest of the room, "We should also probably come up with a system to avoid that awkward feeling of asking for the space for sexy times with friends."

"I'm probably very easy to live with, not very fussy about all those things. Only thing I would say, is, if I'm sleeping...best not to wake me. I can get a little grumpy then," Doyle scratched his head, readying himself for a quick nap. "Sexy times? No need to worry about that with me. I flirt but take things no further usually. Should the need come up, I can make myself scarce for a bit. My best friend works here, Grayson. I can either hang out at his or hit the gym for a while if needed," Doyle yawned only now half thinking about what he was saying. The bottom bunk was looking more and more comfortable as the conversation continued.

"Great, then." K'os was fussy about those things, but the need to please others and especially handsome ones, superseded his need for compulsive behaviour, so he stayed quiet. "Well, I'm going to start getting ready for my shift then. Why don't you unpack or relax or do whatever It's your space now too." K'os beamed a smile before taking a few steps towards the washroom. "Do you need to do anything in there before I start showering?"

"Nothing at all, just a clear access to the bed before I collapse into it," Doyle replied, wearily, his eyes beginning to close on their own. To an outside observer, his face would look very strange right now. To coin a Scottish expression, he 'looked like he had been dragged through a hedge backwards."

K'os quirked an eyebrow at his new roommate and shrugged. Though it didn't matter to K'os either way to him, Doyle almost looked like he was on drugs. "Alright, well if you ever need anything just ask. We're roommies now." He flashed him a smile before turning towards the bathroom. He slipped off his t-shirt as he went casually tossing it over his shoulder. K'os was always a happy morning person, so it took him longer for it to click that perhaps the man was tired. K'os stopped in the entrance of the bathroom and turned to look at Doyle. "You must be exhausted." He said with warmth. "I'll make sure from now on things stay dark and quiet for you when I get ready for work."

"My shift patterns should normalise soon," Doyle said, removing his own shirt and he allowed his body to gracefully fall onto the bed and let it rest, "so again, no worries there." He gave an even more weary smile.

He let his gaze linger over Doyle's torso only briefly, before spotting the weariness in the man's smile. He shook salacious thoughts from his mind and gave him a sympathetic smile before saying, "Sleep well then." before turning and entering the bathroom.

Doyle's next comment was his instinctively, overtly flirty and he honestly could not say if he meant it or was just tired, "Feel free to join me anytime," his brain did not allow him to think on it much more as it quickly began shut down procedures.

K'os licked his lips at that suggestion. His hand ran along the edge of the bathroom door frame; a move designed to ground him more than anything. He resisted the strong urge to take off his clothes and jump in beside him, "I'll keep that in mind." K'os said instead, turning back into the bathroom and letting the door close behind him. He gripped the edge of the sink, and gazed in to the mirror as he thought about Doyle's body drifting to sleep in the next room. The image in the mirror looked too judgmental, so he turned and let his pants drop to the floor before stepping into the sonic shower.

Without stepping into a shower, Doyle removed the rest of his own clothes to get comfortable and quite gently drifted off to sleep. Anyone who came close to him would notice the soft and subtle purr that came from his nose. He let his body become wrapped in the blanket, allowing it to become a second, warmer skin.
