Mission: Episode 03 - Frontier
Location: Shuttlecraft
Timeline: MD09: 0300

ON:

When Nico found the El-Aurian, she was on the floor in the cell, cheeks stained with fallen tears and cuts and bruises marking her face. He had lifted her up on his arms and brought her to her shuttle, gently resting her in one of the pilot seats.

He took the seat next to hers and began the launch sequence for the shuttle. As the shuttle entered warp and leaned back in the chair and watched the El-Aurian's breathing slow.

"You see what stubbornness got you... I tried warning you." He spoke to her. "I knew he sensed me, even glancing in my direction during that one briefing."

Nico waited for a response but knew he wouldn't get any. "If I had known you were going to be this stubborn, I wouldn't have made pushed the Ion storm in the cube's path to delay it."

Was still silent and Nico didn't like the feeling one bit. He was warned not to get too attached, especially to a species like the El-Aurians. And with all the knowledge in the universe Nero thought he couldn't possibly be attached to a member of that ill-fated race. But he chose to examine them first hand, walked among them... becoming fast friends with a few of them. And those he grew attached he protected the best he could.

"The Continuum always said the universe would find the balance, nothing ever gets altered, merely delayed or advanced depending on the circumstances..." He shook his head, "You were supposed to die that day, and with a snap of the finger, I saved you." He whispered leaning back on seat watching the stars zoom past the shuttle.

''I could save you now, but that would only be benefiting me. You've done that already. If you live you'll just outlive your shipmates all over again. I've learned all I can. The hall rental has expired, the orchestra has stopped playing, and the dance is over." He snapped his fingers and the shuttle flying stars were replaced with the USS Galileo approaching them.

He turned to look at Eve and smiled sadly at her, caressing her cheek, the bruises and cuts healed, but the pulse was gone. "A parting gift my friend..." And with a flash of white light he was gone, leaving Evelyn's body alone in shuttle.

Evelyn felt the warmth of the sunlight on her skin. Her eyes opened to a beautiful scenery. Blue sky that had whisps of white clouds, a lush parkland of perfectly manicured green-blue grass. She looked around and in the distance she saw several people gathering, sounds of laughter echoed and Eve couldn't help but smile.

"Took you long enough." A male voice whispered behind her.

Eve turned around and her eyes widen as she instantly recognized the man before her. "Richard!" she shouted with excitement as she ran to him, wrapping her arms so tight around him.

"I know..." he whispered holding her close, he pulled back slightly so he could see her face. Brushing a few loose strands behind her ears he smiled widely at her. "I missed you too Evelyn."

Evelyn eyes watered but she didn't shed a single tear. "Richard...how is this possible? How..." then it dawned on her.

Rick's eyes had a glimmer of sadness as he too recognized her revelation. But sorrow quickly faded as he leaned close and pressed his lips to hers. When the soft kiss ended he chuckled against her lips, "I really missed you.... But I'm not the only one who has, come." He took her hand.

"Where are you taking me?" Eve asked, as she willingly followed him.

Rick grinned, "Home."
