ON:

Siren slammed the pile of padds down onto the table, breathing hard as she separated them into piles of importance. Each padd went down with an additional slam for good measure, and her jaw was tight. Her dark red hair was bobbing furiously in ringlets with the sharp movements, and her pale skin had a high flush to the cheeks that oddly toned with the red in her eyebrows and hair.

"Now what the hell has happened for you to make that amount of noise, Red?" Amynta said, her hands on her hips as she watched the other woman with annoyance at the noise...but her features softened when she saw her face.

Siren glanced up to her, frowning as she bent back over the padds, to get them sorted. "What the hell is wrong with officers?"

"As if I know. Depends on the officer," she said and reached to touch her shoulder, pulling her away from the padds.

Siren's frown deepened as she moved stubbornly with her, folding her arms tightly. "I'm doing your files!"

"Shut up," Amynta said as she pushed her into the private office. She let the doors close and watched her, with a frown. "Now what on earth happened, Red?"

"A stupid bloody officer happened, that's what!" Siren snapped, half shrugging, half tensing. "What have bloody boots got to do with anything in the real world anyway!"

Amynta rolled her eyes before moving closer to her, searching her eyes for a long moment. "Slowly, so I can follow what happened."

"He said my uniform wasn't up to scratch. He said my boots weren't clean, or standard, they're just bloody boots!" Siren shouted with frustration and anger, pointing down to them. "Since when do shiny standard boots beat borg! When! In what universe!"

Amynta watched her before taking a breath. "Well, what does that idiot know? You look perfectly presentable to me."

"That's what I thought!" Siren exclaimed, holding her hands out to the side. "What the hell kind of little man gets off on getting stroppy with crewmen over bloody clothes!"

"Because he is little. Now calm down," Amynta said as she watched her, reaching to touch her shoulder. "He's not worth it."

"He's lucky he's got anything at all after the way he spoke to me!" Siren set her hands on her hips, breathing hard. "Why the flying dust does uniform matter anyway! It doesn't make my work any less good!"

Amynta looked at her before stepping close, into her personal space. "It doesn't. But he isn't worth it. It makes him feel good to do that...but give me his name...and I will rip him to shreds."

Siren shook her head with a frown, her jaw tightening up. "No, I want to do that myself, slowly."

Amynta smiled at that, watching her with amusement. "I can do it with less risk. I am an officer too."

"No, I want to use my fingernails," Siren frowned, but she was loosening up again.

Amynta smiled gently, arching an eyebrow. "Your nails are too nice to waste on scum..."

Siren finally gave a small smile at that, her fists unfurling as she took a breath. "You have killer nails."

"I do," Amynta said and smiled gently to her. "Now. We are going to have a cup of tea and you will tell me who it was. Then we work. And I will sort it out."

"Tea with vodka in?" Siren asked lightly, folding her arms as she let out a breath, shifting her weight to rest on her right leg.

"Not on duty," Amynta shook her head and pulled back, smiling. "But we can have a proper drink once we are off, Red."

"Shame," Siren sighed, sitting down heavily and leaning back, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Bloody officers."

Amynta arched an eyebrow, moving to the replicator. "I am one of those," she pointed out, but teasingly.

"Nah, you're an officer. Not a bloody officer," Siren shook her head with a weak laugh.

Amynta chuckled as she got the two cups of tea, placing them down. "Well, still. Everyone's different. He will get what he has coming to him."

"A blowtorch to the balls," Siren muttered, frowning as she breathed harder.

Amynta took a breath as she watched her. "Relax," she said firmly as she sat down and crossed her legs. "And breathe."

Siren leant back, crossing her legs as she sipped her tea, taking it slowly. "I like tea," she finally said quietly. "It was a luxury."

Amynta sipped her own, watching her for a long moment. "You should have every luxury in the universe."

Siren gave a soft smile at that, watching her for a long moment. "The Fleet has most of them available. It's overwhelming now. I suppose it makes up for stupid officers."

"It does," Amynta said and smiled warmly, reaching to pat her hand. "And he'll never get far in life."

"Wish it worked like that, but it's usually tossers like that who manage to crawl up," Siren shook her head firmly.

"Not that far," Amynta assured her, arching an eyebrow. "You need to be ruthless as well to get all the way up."

"Yeah, he's just petty," Siren shook her head, frowning at the memory. "I mean, boots, seriously?"

"Seriously," Amynta said and smiled as she watched her. "I'd get men like that to lick mine clean."

Siren laughed loudly at that, shaking her head as she calmed down and sipping her tea as she watched her with shining eyes. "The worrying thing is, I believe it."

"It's also how I punish naughty crewmen," Amynta added, setting her cup down.

"Don't be including me in that," Siren warned, arching an eyebrow, but there was a playfulness back in her blue eyes again.

Amynta laughed warmly, arching an eyebrow. "Nah...you are a bit like me. You like watching them squirm."

Siren laughed warmly at that, searching her eyes. "You like watching then?" she teased.

"I always like watching," she winked as she watched her, happy to see her relax.

Siren laughed at that, shaking her head with warmth. "Oh now there's an image. Must have been weird then, when you were being watched as a dancer."

Amynta smiled at that, her eyes warm. "I still watched them more than they watched me," she said softly. "I multitask."

She laughed at that, her eyes shining at the idea of it. "Sounds pretty pervy."

"You enjoy it," Amynta said teasingly, her eyes shining as she let out a breath.

Siren set her cheek in her hand as she smiled, laughing warmly at the prospect. "You think so, do you?"

Amynta nodded as she tilted her head, studying her for a long moment. "I do. But I still need to get to know you...properly."

"And what does that entail?" she asked with a small smile, shaking her head.

"More drink," Amynta said and arched an eyebrow with a firm nod of her head. "A lot more drink."

"You're going to get me drunk and search my soul? I don't know if that's scary or exciting," Siren laughed softly, trying to consider it.

"Exciting, I hope...or else I am not doing it properly," Amynta said as she held her eyes, teasing the younger woman.

Siren laughed, searching her eyes with a warm smile. "You trying to excite me, Amynta? That's sexual harassment."

"It's only sexual harassment if you don't enjoy it, Red," Amynta smirked, but her eyes were warm.

"Now that's not fair," Siren laughed warmly, shaking her head as she nudged her with her foot.

Amynta laughed with her, shaking her head. "Well, we can continue the harassment after hours...I'll help you with the padds."

"You only say that because it's not harassment if it's off work time," Siren teased before laughing. "I feel better now."

"Good," Amynta said and moved to her. She leant close and pressed a gentle kiss to her hair. "I don't want you upset, Red."

Siren gave a small smile at that, watching her with surprise at the gentleness from the usually brash and sharp woman. "Problem is, I get annoyed way too quickly and easily. And over stupid things."

"Well. You can always come to me. And I never say that to people..." Amynta said and pulled back, moving to get her small bag. She opened it and took out some makeup...so that Siren could freshen up if she wished.

Siren watched her with surprise, taking a breath before smiling. "You could do it."

Amynta smiled gently and nodded, sitting down. She leant close, reapplying the makeup to Siren...but a bit bolder, more like she would have done on herself. Eyeliner. Kohl. Fresh mascara. And a peach lipstick as well. She finished with some powder and blusher, studying her.

"What do you think?" Siren asked with a bright smile, tilting her head as if to give her a better aspect to view.

"You are always beautiful, look for yourself..." Amynta took the mirror to show her, arching an eyebrow.

Siren smiled softly, watching with surprise at the boldness before laughing warmly. "I look fierce!"

Amynta had to agree as she nodded and smiled warmly. "I am glad you like it."

Siren smiled with awe, shaking her head as she watched the reflection for a long moment. "Make up was a ~real~ luxury back on Nyx. I'm still getting used to having so much available to me here."

Amynta smiled gently as she watched her. "Come to me when you want some, Red. I'll find you a lipstick to die for."

"I think you should give me a real make over. Make me as fierce as you," Siren laughed warmly, even though she doubted anyone could be as fierce as Amynta.

"Only if I can dress you up as well," Amynta said firmly as she leant closer, her eyes shining.

Siren laughed at that, letting out a long breath as she reached for the padds, pulling them over and giving the right pile to Amynta before taking her own pile so they could go through the new data showing up in the system together. "Okay. Deal. Nothing fussy though."
