ON:

Evelyn cleared the Galileo's shuttlebay and quickly engaged the warp drive. The shuttle entered warp with ease, maintaining optimal cruising speed. Evelyn leaned back in her chair watching the stars streak past the shuttle and finally let her mind focus on the one thing she has been trying to ignore.

She is going home and that is leaving her excited and frightened. Ever since she joined the crew of the Galileo there has been this pull to return home. She tried to brush the feeling off, especially when on duty, but when her shift has ended and Eve was left with nothing else to focus her attention on, she would think about her home.

Something was tugging on her very soul to return. While that feeds her anticipation, her fear is fueled by a feeling that has been telling her not to go. Eve looked down at the shuttle console eyeing the necessary keys needed to reverse course. In the back of her mind there was a voice whispering not to do this, turn the ship around and return to duty. Eve sighed and let her eyes linger at of the viewport. "Family... it's all about family." She mutters to herself remembering her parents, her siblings, her friends.

"Why am I hoping I find them?" She whispers to the empty cabin. She must be delusional, she must be insane, yet she can't shake this feeling in her core, something was waiting for her on El-Auria; something profound.

Evelyn sighed and rubbed her face, even if this trip ends up being a disappointment, it'll give Eve a chance she was never given in over 200 hundred years; to say goodbye.

[One Hour Later]

Pristine. That was the word Evelyn could use to describe the site before her as the shuttle approached El-Auria. The planet looked untouched, as beautiful as she remembered. It was still as blue as she recalled with swirls of white and purple over the green continents and blue oceans. This wasn't what she was expecting at all, but everything she had hoped. "Could there have been survivors?" she asked herself and a sense of exhilaration ran through her veins. The stories she heard, the Borg swarming into the system, destroying everything she held dear...how there was nothing left of her homeworld.

Eve shook the memory from her head and tapped the console and began running sensor scans on the planet surface as she entered orbit. The initial rush of excitement fell when she scanned the area that was once the capital city, however only a crater was detected on the sensors. She proceeded to scan the different areas of the planet that were once heavily populated and found nothing, no signs of technology.

The planet healed itself from the Borg's devastation, just waiting for her citizens to return home. Evelyn bit her bottom lip debating what to do next. Should I return to the Galileo? Am I satisfied with these senor readings... or do I land on oh screw this I'm landing. Her hands tapped a few keys on the console maneuvering the shuttle down.

Once the shuttle was safely on the ground, Evelyn powered down the engines and disengaged the back hatch. She picked a familiar location near her old stomping grounds, fortunate the weather was cooperating with her trip.

She stepped out of the shuttle and closed her eyes as she felt the rays of the El-Aurian sun kiss her skin. Smiling to herself she opened her eyes and finally walked around the shuttle. "I'm home." She whispers, hugging herself as a cool breeze flowed through her. She looked out at the landscape before her and covered her mouth as her eyes began to mist. To anyone else the site was of a valley with greens trees, and various planet life with vibrantly colored flowers, but to Evelyn, the site was where a city of millions had once called home.

Eve allowed herself to mourn for people, and it was in that state of grief, that made Eve unaware of the man standing behind her until his arms were around her and the last thing she heard was a hissing sound of a hypospray.
