I Can't Hide It

ON:

Markum, fresh from his meeting with Kestra, walked out of Main Engineering and toward the nearest turbolift. Where are you sweetheart? I need you right away.

Unfortunately my quartersTarishiana thought with a grin. The first grin she had had on her face since her uniform had been singed in a series of unfortunate events. She had stomped out of her lab, as much as a socialite stomps with a fake smile on her face and made the short trip back to her quarters.

Wait for me, please? I'm almost off turbolift. A few brief seconds later, Markum was coming through the door of her quarters. He walked up to her and with one hand on her cheek, and the other embracing her hand, he held her close and passionately kissed her. This can not wait.

Tarishiana couldn't help the questioning look that crossed her face. She had barely turned from the reclimator when Markum was there and kissing her. He took her breath from her with his kiss, as was normal as of late. She was unable to form a coherent thought until the kiss ended. Apparently She thought as she gently touched his face.

Markum looked to her. I met Kestra today. Just gave her a tour of Main Engineering and the Jeffries Tubes "As you know she is full of questions, and I came to a realization suddenly. It was powerful." It was an epiphany Tarish.

She has that affect on people. Tarishiana said with a grin as she looked over Markum for a moment. She could feel his excitement and his emotion as it washed over her. It was almost overwhelming but she was enjoying it. What? She finally asked with a large grin on her face.

He placed both hands on her arm and smiled deeply, settling his gaze into Tarish's eyes. I love you. I love you Tarishiana Barel. I always have, even though I didn't know you. I do not want to go on pretending something different. I love you, and only want to spend what time I have left, with you...kids...whatever...just as long as you are with me.

Tarishiana smiled. It was one of the things she loved about being a Betazoid was the fact that she didn't have to rely on words to know how he felt. That didn't change the fact that she was loving hearing them. She didn't respond she simply kissed him. "I love you too..." She finally whispered against his lips.

Markum pulled her close, and held her as he kissed her yet again. "I'm so glad, I was worried you were going to walk away, think I'm crazy." He held her closer, and placed his forehead to hers. So where do we go from here my beloved?

"I knew I loved you the minute you could hear my thoughts." Tarishiana said with a grin. Her eyes closed as she savored the closeness between them. She finally opened her eyes to look into his. I have no idea. I have told Lestian about you...but I don't want to deal with that right now. She grinned. "Some just told me that they loved me...and that is a first for me." She gave him another kiss and she pulled her arms tighter around his shoulders.

He held onto her, enjoying the quiet bond he shared with her. Taking in the shared emotions of the moment. I never loved, or have been loved like this before Tarish...You bring out the best in me. Markum could feel the excitement, and love in the room. "I had to tell you now, I couldn't wait any longer."

"I am glad that you did." Tarishiana said with a smile as she kissed the tip of his nose. So...you met Kes?...And survived. I am impressed

"Yeah, she is quite the character." added Markum as he picked Tarishiana up into his arms and carried her to the sofa. I know you have to get back soon, but how soon? inquired Markum as he breathed deeply into Tarishiana's neck, giving a teasing kiss.

Too soon Tarishiana thought as her eyes closed. She didn't want to return to her work but she was still on duty and her department didn't its paperwork on its own. If it did she would be out of a job. She pulled back from Markum. "I am sorry imzadi but I have to get back to my department." She said as she placed her own kisses along his jaw.

He ran his fingers through her hair and sighed. "Yeah, I know." See you tonight? Dessert, then dinner maybe.

"That reminds me" Tarishiana said with a grin. "We have dinner with Commander Saalm and Lieutenant McCarthy tonight." She gave him a little wink. She knew that Markum and Dru had hit it off at the carnival the previous night. Despite the fact these plans had been made yesterday another couple was not exactly what had been on her mind.

Markum moved her hair out of the way, for better access to her neck. As he was giving a nibble and trying to move his left hand to a more comfortable position he took notice of her collar, then smiled. "I understand my love. The pains of being an officer on a Starfleet vessel I suppose. Noncoms like myself are spared them usually." Baby, why didn't you tell me? Congratulations. I'm so proud of you....sucker.

"That would be exactly why I didn't tell you." Tarishiana said as she pushed him away playfully. Her fingers grazed the foreign pips on her collar. She let out a sigh as she easily kept Markum from accessing her memories of Hiker. "I am not sure how I feel about it yet...it just happened this morning."

Markum took her hands into his own and gave a gentle kiss on her cheek. "They look good baby..I mean, Lieutenant Barel." Markum gave a chuckle followed by a playful wink.

Tarishiana wrapped her arms around Markum's neck. She had a bad feeling about this whole situation but she refused to let it get to her...not today. "So you told me you love me" she asked as she pulled back and gave him a little kiss followed by a large grin and a laugh. Best morning ever

While admiring her grin, Markum thought for a fleeting moment that something disturbing came across Tarish's eyes, it was just a look, but it was gone. He figured it was due to the excitement of the day. I do love you Rishi. With all my being. "and I want to make every morning, your best morning ever."

Tarishiana let out a little sigh as she placed a soft kiss on his nose. "Move in with me." She said with a little sigh. Ten seconds ago the idea hadn't been in her head but in that moment it felt right. That will make my mornings perfect if you are always there.

Markum suddenly had a grin from ear to ear, and he held on tight to Tarish. I'd love to. "How can I ever say no to you?" Not only will you still be the first and last thing I think of each day, but also the first and last I get to look at. Markum thought of how Marcus would react to the news....It made Markum chuckle, the only person more excited about this than him, would be his overly concerned son. Markum looked at Tarish, and shook his head, because he knew she was sharing in on the though. Kids...nothing like them, especially that one of mine. He'll love you.

"If you plan on being with me, you should practice...n-o...no...no!...no?" Tarishiana's tone was playful as she went over the various way of pronouncing the powerful two letter word. She broke into a laugh as Markum pulled her towards him. I sure hope so. She was glad the statement came though as a thought as it hid the ripple of nervousness that ran though her.

Markum placed both hands on either side of her face, kissed each cheek, then put his forehead to hers. He will...because I do. "So I need to learn the word. The forbidden word? The word my mother always told me never say to a woman? NO!.. I won't do it." He laughed as he tickled Tarish side with his fingers.

"It would make your life easier when dealing with a Betazoid socialite." Tarishiana said with a grin as she tried to escape the tickling sensation of his fingers. Granted your mother is a women after my mother's own heart. She grinned as she kissed him once again. She let out a little pout as the kiss ended, "I have to get back." She almost whispered.

"What if I send Willis in your place, while we...umm...celebrate a little?" he added with a returned kiss and a chuckle. I know baby. I do too. Peers and Willis together in Engineering..the whole ship could blow.

"Ugh..." Tarishiana said as she finally push Markum away from her. It wasn't a hard movement, but it was determined. She shook her head. "I want to stay...I really do...but I have to get back. My first day as a commissioned officer an all." She placed a soft kiss on his lips, We will have plenty of time to celebrate...later.
