Kestra peeled out of her office about ten minutes before the end of her shift, leaving her assistant Pawlak to take the reins should anything come up. Though she didn't expect anything as they were only a half day out of the star base, it never hurt to take precautions. Then again, precautions were why she was heading to sickbay now. That, and regulations.

She slipped out of the turbo lift doors as they opened and squeezed past the horde of crewman changing shifts early. Looks like she wasn't the only one with the bright idea to try to get something done at the very end of her shift. She wondered where they were headed... ah. She heard a very loud passing thought about fried chicken. Maybe they weren't off to get their mandatory exams done after all.

Heading into the sickbay, she looked around inside and waved a salutation to a bearded medical officer. "I made an appointment for my physical? Orexil, Kestra'lunaris. It's in about twenty minutes, but I looked at the rosters and you're supposed to be off then, so I thought... any way you can squeeze me in now?"

"I can help you over here, Lieutenant." replied a cheerful voice from the side. A short Deltan woman had just come out of the office and walked gracefully over towards the yellow-collared woman. "Doctor Hilyer is a bit busy at the moment but I saw your appointment in the log and would be happy to administer your physical." she said, then paused to grin sheepishly as she forgot to introduce herself. "I'm Chief Petty Officer Eda, just arrived a few hours ago." she said.

Robin approached the two women in the front office. "Hello Chief, Mata I'll take her now. P'z'rx isn't due for another four hours." Robin smiled. The pregnant Havlian's budding and birthing cycle has almost come to an end, something Robin was happy to assist with. It would be his first Havlian birth. He raised a hand to gesture the Chief toward an empty Biobed.

Kestra looked between them, eventually smiling at Eda. "Thank you. I guess I'll just..." he pointed towards Hilyer and the bed he'd directed her to. "I just came on board, too, it's a bit..." she gestured the sense of tumultuous energy that always accompanied joining a new crew. "We'll talk later, yes?"

"Yes, that sounds fun. Later." Eda answered with a grin then turned towards Hilyer. "Of course, Doctor," she said as she nodded and stepped to the side for the chief medical officer to conduct his exam.

"Things are certainly exciting today," he said lightheartedly. "Ever since we've launched,I've seen two broken arms, gave a physical to half the crew and now; I am about to witness a Havlian birth. Today is a good day."

Following Hilyer, Kestra hopped up onto the biobed and listened. "It certainly is," she agreed. "Two broken arms, from what?" she asked.

"Oh a very testy Lt. went rock climbing in the holodeck and fell. Landed arms first. She was lucky it wasn't her neck." Robin continued to scan her. "Have you had any strange symptoms. Pain? Anxiety? How well are you acclimating?

"No pain or anxiety," she reported, smiling. "I had a day of rest between my last assignment and this one, on the station. Longest vacation I've had in some time," she laughed a little. "This ship's gravity is a little heavier than my last post, but I haven't noticed it affecting me negatively."

"Good," Robin put away his tricorder and started to feel under Eda's neck."Your heart rate is slightly elevated. But that often comes from change in environment. In a few days, with rest and a bit of work it should equalize. Any questions for me?"

Kestra shook her head. "Nothing I can think of at the moment."

"Good, good," he murmured, and wandered away.

Kestra sat on the biobed for a moment longer, tapping her fingers on her knees curiously. When it was clear he wasn't coming back, she shrugged, slipped to the ground, and went back to work satisfied that she was in order.
