Mission: Episode 01 - Project Sienna
Location: Klingon Neutral Zone, Unknown Location
Timeline: MD 02 - 1900 hrs

Previously, on Improper Procedure...

"I'm Captain Rose Lonera of the starship Petersham. We're on our way to Federation space for a resupply mission and we've been instructed to proceed to these coordinates and await further instructions." she replied.

The Klingon captain stared unwavering into the view screen before finally speaking in a slow and deep voice. "We must search your vessel for unauthorized contraband. You will keep your weapons offline and prepare to be boarded. We require access to all areas of your ship." he said.

"Now hold on, that's completely unnecessary," Lonera protested as she rose up out of her chair, "You may scan our vessel, however no Klingon personnel are to step foot on my ship." she forcefully replied.

"Unnecessary for you...perhaps. But not for us." the Klingon captain replied with a grin before his image suddenly cut out, replacing his face with an image of his green and gray battlecruiser on the view screen.

"Cap'n!" the chief called out with caution in his voice, "I'm reading multiple transporter signatur--" his voice cut out as a series of speckled red transporter beams materialized on the bridge in several areas. The captain had just enough time to turn around and watch a Klingon warrior materialize in front of her before she was overcome with agony, a sharp and severe pain at the base of her spine. Her body went limp and she crumpled to the floor in front of the captain's chair, her eyes squeezed shut as she struggled to catch her breath.

Using the element of surprise and superior numbers, the Klingon quickly and efficiently seized the Petersham. All around the ship, Klingon security personnel boarded the small Miranda Class and incapacitated her crew using a combination of taser sticks and hand to hand combat. Most of the unconscious crew were merely left aboard the ship while she was searched, however a select few were transferred to the Klingon command ship...for interrogation.

And Now, the Continuation...

[ON]

Captain Lonera laid on her back in a small holding cell, barely able to move. The physical shock from the neural taser had severely crippled her nervous system and she found even the simple task of breathing to be extremely painful. Though her body was in bad shape, her mind was still sharp and full of concern. She wondered what the hell had prompted the Klingon vessel to board her ship, let alone use force to capture and detain her. And then her mind wandered to her crew, concerned for their safety and well-being as well. With a painful grunt, she rolled herself onto her side and rested her head against the metal floor, waiting for an answer to manifest itself.

K'nara stepped across the entrance into the brig area, her boots clicking on the hard floor. Folding her arms in front of her chest she viewed the ugly human female. "Did you really think you could fool us?" she barged into the questioning, unconcerned for the discomfort the other woman was feeling.

Looking up at the Klingon woman dressed in full armor, Lonera scowled. "You have no right to attack my vessel!" she blurted out, struggling to move into a sitting position. "You are in violation of the Camp Khitomer Accords of 2293 and I demand you return myself and any of my crew back to my vessel immediately!" she yelled, furious at her unprovoked abduction.

K'nara laughed and pressed the control panel on the side of the entrance to the holding cell, dropping the force field. "What did you say, you deceiptful piece of bagtag!" she spat out and grabbed the other woman by the neck, lifting her up against the wall to a sitting position.

The captain choked and coughed, feeling the pressure of the woman's strong hands squeezing her throat, pulling her up and pushing her back against the wall. She gasped as she was released and let out a groan when she felt pain course throughout her back. "Where is my ship? What have you done with my crew?" she asked after several moments, this time in a more quiet and fatigued voice.

K'nara let her go suddenly and stepped back, folding her amrs accross her chest, watching her slump down again, studying her like one would an insect. "Your ship is being stripped to pieces not too far from here...and your crew is being treated like you are... " she shrugged. She suddenly stepped forward and snarled rigtht in her face. "This is what you get for trying to deceive us....." Knara said, not letting on what they have or have not found.

"Deceive you?" she asked, her mind trying to understand. "We're a Federation starship on a resupply mission." she said. "We're carrying food stores and repair components." she added, giving the Klingon woman an angry stare.

The backhand of the Klingon woman connected with the side of the mouth of the Federation Captain so hard and fast that it flung her sideways. "You lying petaQ!!" she snarled, her eyes glittering with that famous Klingon rage. It was clear from her expression that the interrogation was only about to begin. Knara checked herself. The human was weak, she had to control her strength to injure, but not kill. Even though she would fit the normal brutish perception of a Klingon female, everything she did was carefully calculated. She turned her shoulders slightly towards the outside. "lIH vech'H Q'Ho!! [Begin it now!] she shouted coldly.

From the other holding cell a grunt was heard and then a yell and goaning following it.

"That is your science officer..." K'nara said coldly. "The more you lie, the more you and she will suffer..."

The captain slowly recovered, laying on her side in pain. She turned her head back to the woman, her ears ringing and a trail of blood oozing down her mouth. "Release my crew at once!" she yelled in a weak voice, squinting up at the Klingon through one eye. "You have no right!"

"I. Have. Every. Right. You squiveling pathetic bIHnuch!" K'nara growled and shouted another instruction someone obviously waiting for her orders. A blood curdling scream pierced the already tense air, stopping abruptly. Furious K'nara straightened and stepped backwards so she could see into the other cell. "Did you kill her?" she asked in the gutteral Klingon language. A response came, disappointment evident in the voice. K'nara frowned, but seemed to relax slightly. Shrugging she looked back at the startled Federation Captain. "She passed out, they will fetch your security officer next," she informed her flatly.

"Now... "K'Nara said, crossing her arms again accross her chest. "Are you sure that you have nothing to hide from us?" she asked, her expression unreadable, but it seemed that she was getting bored with this line of questioning and was ready to believe the Starfleet Captain.

The captain swallowed a lump in her throat as she felt her stomach churn at the thought of what they were doing to her science officer and the pain she was enduring. If Lonera didn't act, and quickly, she knew the rest of her crew wouldn't all be lucky enough to pass out. She quickly thought about her options, as well as her orders. Regardless of protocol, there was no way she could let her crew, her friends, be tortured and possibly killed. "Leave my crew alone..." she finally answered in a quiet and raspy voice, "...and I'll tell you what I know." she said.

"I am sure you will..." K'Nara said satisfied. Suddenly she leaned forward with her face only centimeters from the other woman's face. "Don't lie....." she threatened in a soft lulling voice.

General D'Grath entered the interrogation room. He had exchanged the robes of associted with one holding high office for the standard armor for a Klingon. Although he wore a Ha'quj (sash) displaying the emblem of his House, the emblem for the House of Martok, and the many medals and awards of his long and glorious service.

Though his features were scarred and worn his eyes and mind were sharp. There was also an energy to his step that was all but unnoticable to anyone that didn't know him personally. That extra exhileration coming from being able to get his 'hands dirty' again...and from being able to get back into space. His bootfall rang out on the metal deck plating, full of the authority he held and the power that still resided within him. He was please with K'nara's actions thus far and as long as they continued to succeed this would gain her considerable honor; not to mention that he held the Chancellor's ear. This could make....or break the Captain. "Well done Captian, I'll take things from here."

D'Grath looked down at the deafeted Federation Captain. "Where would you like to start?"

Captain Lonera sighed as she turned her eyes toward the cold metal floor. "I don't know what we were carrying, but the technology was advanced. Some sort of particle manifold assembly." she said weakly as she shook her head in confusion, "I don't know what they're for..." her voice trailed off as she winced in discomfort after drawing a deep breath.

He knew perfectly we that a Captain would know what was on his...or her ship. Looking to his left at the Klingon Captain. "Bring in the next member of her crew. Let's see if that refreshes her memory."

"No!" the captain protested, unwilling to be responsible for the death of one of her crew members. "I'm telling the truth, I wasn't briefed on the contents of our cargo. All we had was a supply manifest to go by, and it's not our job to ask questions." she said angrily with her brow furrowed.

Grabbing her hair he yanked the Captain's head back. "TELL ME WHAT YOU ARE REALLY DOING!!" The Federation Captain hesitated just long enough to seal her fate. D'Grath pulled and old fashioned Klingon agonize from a pouch on his belt. Such devices had not been seen in regular use for almost 100 years but he slapped it to her chest and activated it.

The room filled with her screams and echoed down corridors and through bulkhead. She thrashed about even though bound securely as the General stood watching the woman without emotion. He knew this closest ally and friend would have put a blade to his throat but Charghwl'IH, though an honorable and skilled warrior, had spent too much time in the Federation.

Deactivating the old school punishment device he allowed her to catch her breath as he grabbed a stool and sat next to her. "That was only a medium setting; hesitate or lie to me again and I will set it to maximum and leave you hear until your heart explodes. Now what is your real mission?"

Lonera gasped as she writhed on the floor while she recovered from the agonizing pain of the device. She struggled to move and blinked the tears from her eyes to look up at the blurry Klingon figure speaking to her.

"There is an experiment at Starbase 152." she began as she admitted defeat, "It's a research project called Sienna, some kind of FTL drive supposedly able to make warp drive obsolete. I don't know about the details because they're classified. Starfleet is tight-lipped about the project, they don't tell us anything. We've been delivering components and supplies on a monthly basis," she said with a weak voice, then paused for several moments before continuing. "They're getting ready to move the project...some kind of relocation to another starbase. I don't know where or which one, but Starfleet is sending a ship to retrieve it...a science vessel." she finished as she closed her eyes and panted for breath.

"Now return my crew to my ship and release us." she said in a pleading voice which betrayed her fear.

The information had poured from her and as she finished he stood. Walking over to Captain K'nara, he nodded slightly in the human's direction. "Kill them all...Make it look like an accident. Perhaps something left over from the Dominion War."

Under other circumstances, K'nara would have looked forward to executing this order, but it left a bitter taste in her mouth. Her House was known for standing firmly behind the alliance with the Federation, but not inclusion, and she had always agreed with it. But now!? "Mu'tak Hu'teq wIHu'gH 'Il Qul'vath! " she growled her untranslatable frustration.

The Federation captain watched in horror as the Klingon general gave the order to kill her and her crew. She clenched her teeth and her face turned red in fury. "NOOO!!" she yelled as she tried in vein to fight back, thrashing about on the floor as she struggled to get to her feet.

"Yes......" K'nara hissed unsheaving her Diktagh and without even looking at the captain again, slit her throat in one clean cut....
