Previously....

As the corner of Justin's lip lifted in a half smile his focus momentarily turned directly on Evelyn as he studied her smile. "You like to glance off of details, not dwell in the moment and treasure something which might be pleasurable..."

Eve looked at him, "I glance off details? I come from a race of listeners... all we do is dwell in the moment and pay close attention on details. Besides if you ever had tasted a sumarian peach, you'd understand how indescribable the sensation really is. It's practically mind numbing."

And now.....

Taking a step forward, Justin moving his hand in a backwards motion as he encouraged Remo to move backwards. All of the time, his complete concentration was on Evelyn herself. "But yet, you don't recall the dampness of your lips, the feel of the tip of your tongue as you moved to capture the sweet taste to be able to enjoy more.." Moving in a step closer until mere inches separated them both. "..You see. I have tasted one...I recall the extacsy of the moment, the need to capture that moment in a single memory snap shot. The taste, the smell, the sensations which cause a shiver to run up your spine."

Eve didn't step back when he invaded her space, closing the gap between them even more. His words brought the memory of the last time she ate the peach fresh in her mind. She remembers the sweet flavors not just from the ripe fruit but the juices, the world around her focused on that fruit, she had never tasted anything so sweet...and perfect and then the words echoed in her ears as if they were spoken right beside her as in the memory, "I told you the taste was divine." then faint chuckles before soft lips met her own... Evelyn blinked breaking the trance, and her eyes glistened with unshed tears. "I'm sorry." whispers, a part of her wanted to take a step away from Justin but her body was frozen still. "Last time I ate one...was with my husband." she revealed softly.

Moving a hand to firstly push back his eye piece, Justin then moved his bare hand to cup Evelyn's cheek, using his thumb to catch a stray tear. As he kept his eyes on hers, Justin found himself wanting to say nothing, just cupped her delicate cheek lightly, allowing her space to move back if this was too much. Fighting an instinct to lean in and kiss her sweet lips, instead he leaned in and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"There is a downside to immortality." her voice cracked as she took a step back from him.

Easily allowing his hand to fall back to his side, Justin stayed in the same position as his eyes never left hers. "It is the one thing in human history with everyone searches for, that fountain of youth, an achievement of immortality. Noone ever stops to realise the burdens and responsibilities which come with having to live your life like that."

Evelyn wiped her eye and chuckled, "Believe me when I say, I hope people don't understands." She looked at him, "I hate it when people feel sorry for me. The sense of weakness and pity."

Shaking his head, Justin studied Evelyn without any of his usual humour and a serious, set face. "Then they are idiots as they aren't seeing the true woman who stands before them. A woman with a deep strength of which most of us will never experience in our lifetime. You don't have an ounce of weakness inside of you Evelyn and people are stupid if they think otherwise."

Taking a step forward, Justin still allowing her some space so as Evelyn wouldn't feel closed in. "You're a beautiful woman, one which men shouldn't be so blind to. Your beauty is more then you see on the surface, it goes skin deep."

Evelyn looked into his eyes and the small smile on her lips remained, "Why do I get a sense that you're quite the flirt, Mr. Baker?"

As a light glint entered his eye, Justin brushed the back of his index finger across Evelyn's cheek. "Every once in awhile there's the odd woman who deserves it."

Evelyn chuckled, and leaned forward and softly pressed her lips to his. "Thank you."

Smiling against her lips, Justin moved one hand to the small of her back as he held her close for a brief moment. "Would I be asking too much if I ask you to join me for dinner some night?"

Eve smirked, "I never turn down a good dinner." she winked, chuckling softly.

"I would offer my place but it's likely Zaren will be there...Unless you'd like me to invite him also?" Justin cursed himself for even bringing up Zaren but once he'd tripped over the name, he'd had to continue.

Evelyn chuckled, "Well if you feel the need for a chaperone feel free, but if you'd like a private dinner we could eat at my quarters, or even grab dinner at the mess hall."

Softly stroking Evelyn's back for a moment, Justin finally took a step back with a smile before clicking his fingers to call Remo back to his hand. "I think we can manage to behave without a chaperone? How about your quarters so you don't have rumours spreading around the ship that the second officer is getting cosy with a reporter?"

"What's wrong with a little gossip? It never hurt anyone." She winked.

Making a mock bow, Justin threw Remo up in the air before catching him with one hand. "Give me a shout when you manage to clear a date and time and I promise Ill leave the little guy at home."

Evelyn smirked, "I'll contact you and I appreciate knowing that our... dinner would be off the record."

Tapping his fingertips against his forehead, Justin gave a mock salute. "Now...if Mi'lady doesn't mind, I've got a producer who isn't going to be happy if I'm late for a briefing."

Eve smirked nodding her head, "Don't want you to get in trouble. See you later, Justin."
