Personal Revalations

Posted on 01 Oct 2015 @ 5:30am by Ensign Miriam Kallan

435 words; about a 2 minute read

Miriam sat in the quiet of her quarters, rubbing her temples slowly before plopping down on her bed with a sigh. "Computer, continue personal log.

"Well, things are starting to make a bit of sense here. Starfleet records have shown that El-Aurian's can sense changes in the time-space continuum. I guess that explain's why I've been feeling so uncomfortable. Knowing this, however, doesn't exactly make it go away. My head is still killing me and eating is still difficult. I may have to go to sickbay to see if they can give me some kind of nutritional supplement that doesn't need to go in my stomach.

"Besides the obvious, however. I'm rather enjoying this assignment. The people are fantastic and very welcoming for the most part. Some people seem a bit more distant than others, but, well I know very well that some times that's just how people are, so I don't take it personally.

"So far, my favorite is by far, Oren. There's just something about meeting another El-Aurian that's comforting. WE seem to understand each other in a way that other species simply can't. Not for lack of trying, of coarse, but for lack of ability. Perhaps it's just the empathic abilities, who knows. Still, it's nice to meet someone of my own species.

"After Oren, I most definitely adore Marika, she's so open and adorable. I love people who are open, it makes conversation much more interesting. Vulcan's are well and good, but I have yet to meet one that didn't answer at least one question in a conversation with, 'That is a highly illogical question'. Yeah, Vulcan's gotta love 'em." Miriam sighed and rolled onto her side. "Pause log." She grumbled and curled up.

Her stomach was killing her, partially due to hunger, and partially due to the uncomfortable state of her entire being. "I really need to go back to sickbay." Though she told herself that, she couldn't convince her body to move. She was just too tired. Not getting the nutrients one needed tended to do that to a person.

Once the pain subsided once more she slowly uncurled and rolled back onto her back, "Continue log. It looks like this stomach trouble isn't going to go away anytime soon. I should head off to sickbay once I can get myself to move. Although, I might just sleep while I can and go later. Might get scolded for that, but, meh, who cares... I just... want to sleep." The female trailed off, slipping into a blissful sleep. Unfortunately, that meant she'd have to delete several hours of silence later.
