"Did I shay that work wash good? I take it back! I take it all back! I wish I could go back to thosh daysh. I could just sit around in the lab, do my job, I wash good at my job. I got soooo much done too. Eshpecially because no one talked to me. I wash really lonely. Isn't it funny that I feel more isholated on this ship full of feeling people than I did on that Vulcan ship? I think it's funny. Maybe sad too. Yeah, I don't like being lonely..."

"Anywaysh, uh...so...uh...uh...oh yeah, the mishin. Uh we uh...right, we took a shuttle out to my ashteroid. I won that fair and shquare. I don't care what they thought of me when I started that preshen...preshen uh...tation. I get a week to do my own studies when we get out of this mess. He said I would. Commander Kohl..."

Silence for a long moment.

"Kohl he and I...sho I shaid he was shcary. I had no idea! When I came to his quarters of all places to make my report he didn't want to hear it. He wanted to play Truf or Dare. Uh...Trush. Truth. Yeah, that. And I uh, I played. He embarrassed me sho much! I mostly picked dare because, you know, that's easier. Not with him. And when I shaid truth he asked me things that were really hard to answer. And he was looking at me with those eyes. That's the best part."

Silence again, but shorter this time.

"The worst part I mean. He shtares at me, like he can shee my thoughts. Or I feel like I'm naked! Ummm. Sho yeah, there's the shuttle, right? And I gotta be in charge of people. Ensign Marika - she's funny and nish. I bumped into her in the corridor, knocked her over, but she just laughed. I guesh we're going to get shome food shometime. She didn't even seem mad I didn't recognise her at firsht. She looks really nicer without the shpace shoot."

"And then I wash giving the orders. Me! That wash different, and I liked it, even if Kohl wash staring at me - us. And we did okay. Hey, Cadet Paragon! He needs zero-gee training bad. Like holodeck time for daysh bad. Kohl said something very nice to me about how I handle zero-gee. I blushed really bad at that."

"Sho, we did thish mission, and shtuff happened and uh, well, ash I sat there uh... *hic* ...oh no. Pleash no. But we were dinking... *hic* Damn! Drinking. I really don't remember everything I shaid now. I know I drank too much, eshpechialeelee hanging out with my bosh. It wouldn't be sho bad if he *hic* wasn't so *hic* nish looking. The sound of soft breathing until the log shuts down automatically.
