Personal Log: Lt JG Dea Mialin

Well its been another busy day. The further we get into this mission the more stomach wants to do flips. There is no better way to explain it. As usual Flight Control has been busy. Given our schedule we've been doing a lot of learning on the job rather than training exercises.

So far I have confidence in my personnel. Some of them are very young and inexperienced but they will adapt in time. Its strange to think I was in their shoes once but I'm now a Department Head. I also see things from a very different perspective now than I did back then.

At this point all I can do is my best. Beyond that I hope that my leadership benefits those under my command. I can also safely say that there are times its terrifying to think people are looking to me now. However one of the most important lessons I've learned from my mentors is never let anyone under my command see my true emotions. Yes that can be next to impossible at times but its necessary for several reasons.

Sigh

It's one of those lessons I won't soon forget. Other than that I can just continue to improve and carry out my duties. The rest only time will tell. The only other thing is to always keep learning. One of Mialin's previous hosts used to have the motto. 'Learning is a never ending process.'

End Log
