Eva sat down in front of the camera for the second time in as many months. Activating the recording she smiled into it as she began.

"Well. A lot has happened in two months. Last recording I was just another engineer working on another starfleet ship, enjoying and living a rather carefree life. I agreed to help Naois work through his Pon'farr by standing in for his mate. Hindsight they say is 20/20 and one can't really see the future. I've rolled the dice before and come up lucky but not this time.

Eva frowned. "I'm officially about 8-9 weeks pregnant with Naois' child. Not what I'd been expecting, and probably not what I'd have chosen if I'd known, but I made a choice and this is the outcome. I knew the risks and now I have to accept them."

Naois is an absolute gentleman in all respects. He offered to "do right by me", which means take me into his house to be his mate, to become part of his family unit if I wish. AT the very least he wants to support me and the child in any way that he can.

I'm unsure if I want to go that road or not. I'm so used to being on my own and doing my own thing that the idea of being someone's wife, and an instant mother of three children, four actually, feels a little like I got my wings clipped. But I also know the child needs a father and a stable place to grow up.

I also took the time to speak with Lt Miir in counseling. Get my head wrapped around what's going on, make sure I know what I'm feeling and I'm sure of what I want before I make any rash decisions. I have another meeting in a day or so, followup on some of what he said.
