We have arrived at the Starbase a few days ago. I've been too busy getting caught up in cleaning the ship or at least directing the crews on how to clean the ship.

They better leave Engineering the way I left it on docking. What is it about starbase crews and messing with things more than they need to?

In more personal news though, Mitchell Faulkner has been in touch. Or rather, Captain Faulkner as he constantly likes to be known. In my one day grand novel that these logs will be, the jerk of a Captain who played me along as his puppet in my final year at the Academy.

Yes, yes, our relationship was a breach of rules. He was a Captain, I was a 4th year cadet. We were drawn to each other though, after his talk on survival tactics on a deserted planet alone, I fell. That night at a local bar, I couldn't help but go and talk to him though. We enjoyed a years whirlwind romance as he was seconded to the Academy. I used to sneak out of his quarters some nights and his mine, through the sheer and continued fluke of me having my own room.

It was good, it was wrong, it was exciting, everything I wanted. I felt safe with him, like I didn't need to be with anyone else. He was all that mattered to me and I thought I was all that mattered to him. I was getting ready to request being on his ship, cashing in the favors I had across the campus to pull it off, students and staff alike. That is when he broke my heart. He didn't want me anymore. I was graduating, he refused my request to be on his ship and went on his way. I never knew why.

Over the years he has tried to get back in touch, so far I have been able to ignore him. Until he says he will be on shore leave at the same time and is looking forward to finally chatting to me. I can't really avoid it can I?

I've reluctantly agreed. We will see how it goes.

Anyway, for now. Grayson out. I need to shower and go check into some temporary quarters at the starbase. I've requested them for the length of shore leave on the base so I can enjoy some of my own space.
