Personal Log: Lt j.g. Min Zhao

Min sat down in front of the terminal in her apartment. Things were by now pretty sparse as her personal effects were aboard the Galileo. The last of her effects was packed in a small bag she slung over her back. Sitting down in front of the computer she began.

"Last log from Earth. What's new? A few things. The Galileo is getting ready for departure and I'm working with the rest of ops to ensure all our supplies and gear is stowed aboard ship. Two months in dry dock and things go missing, get misplaced, etc. I'm thankful in some ways I'm pregnant. Let's me boss people around but not heavy lifting."

Min smiled at the camera. "Eight Months. That's two, maybe three months, and then this little life inside me get's to see the big wide world of the inside of a duranium can. From warm & cozy inside Mom to cold and noisy outside through an incredibly narrow canal, with strange lights and sounds on the other end. One hell of a transition, makes me glad babies don't develop long term memories early on."

"The idea tho scares me a little. Making a child and growing them inside one is easy. Taking care of the little thing after birth when they're no longer attached by a feeding tube is a whole nother matter. I know I can do it but the idea scares me anyways."

"At least tho the child will have somebody they can call Daddy. Jared popped the question, not the marriage one, about moving in with us. I pulled a few strings with Operations, actually I overrode some bunking arrangements as ADH, and got us put together aboard ship."

"I'm really quite excited about getting aboard and getting out into space. I'm going to miss hanging with my sister in law but at least we'll have something to talk about together. She's due in a month or so herself so that'll be a reason to call when we're in subspace range."
