It's all blurring together.

433 words; about a 2 minute read

"Computer, begin recording." Alex said as he threw another slab of meat on the grill. He had been cooking all of the meat he had replicated for the BBQ idea he and the chaplin had had for the last few hours trying to make sure it wouldnt spoil.

"I've been up for.... god who knows how long." Alex said as he flipped over one of the rows that was closer to being done. "I think it's been atleast 36 hours. Not the longest I've gone without sleep, that record was from when I was in the Academy, a whooping 84 hours before I passed out."

Alex shook his head, "No.. that's not right... Ezra was the one who stayed up that long, she had finals that week." He let out a disgruntled sigh as he flipped another row before stepping back and leaning against the wall.

"God, I hate it when I get like this... memories, emotions... so many things just slip through and I cant sort them out." Alex said with a pained voice, "I feel like I'm losing control and nothing can help."

Getting angry for a moment, Alex threw his spatula across the room at the wall. "It's all because of the fucking Borg. They have everyone on edge, hell they have me wanting to just run. I've never run, Iella doesnt run and never has. Ezra feared them like nothing else when she was a Captain they were her worst nightmare."

With a sigh, Alex cross the room and picked up his now bent spatula. Looking at it with a frown on his face, he walked over to the draw and grabbed another one before disposing of the bent one. "She got lucky though, she never had to deal with the monsters. I on the other hand, got to have a first hand taste of their horrid nature."

"Admittedly, I've never felt closer to Ezra though. Her training helped me alot, not to mention her knowledge of the Borg's former encounters with Starfleet." Alex said with another sigh as he flipped over the burgers and pulled the done ones off before plating them and putting them into small refrigeration containers for transport.

Alex let out a loud yawn as he threw another row of burgers on. He still had a fair amount left before he was even close to being down with them, but alteast the crew would have food for a bit and he would be able to help with repairs. "Right, I have more work to do though.... I guess I should get back to work."

"Computer, End Log."
