Loneliness Is A Disease

Posted on 30 Sep 2017 @ 9:37am by Lieutenant Amaranai Franklin

304 words; about a 2 minute read

Amaranai was lying in bed, naked. Her clothes were strewn across the room in a fit of utter desire to remove them. In the bed next to her lay a red headed woman about her own age. Amaranai knew what she had done and had done so willingly. Despite the amount of alcohol in her body, her mind had been clear when she decided to first flirt with, and then go home with, the woman lying next to her. Cassie, was it? Or Keri? Or Macie? Amaranai’s mind had already forgotten her name but felt better in a way.

The brunette tried to recall the conversation, either with herself or the woman, to determine what initiated the sex romp, but Amaranai knew it was simply a deadly combination of being lonely, horny and drunk. Tears were beginning to form at the edges of her eyes and Amaranai knew it was time to leave.

Standing, the woman felt her body ache and her balance give way to the epic hangover. She righted herself quickly and moved quietly to retrieve her clothing from around the room. She left no note of goodbye nor woke the other woman from her drunken and spent rest. Instead, she left the apartment and headed to her own home. Amaranai figured if she was already harming one relationship, she didn’t need to begin another only to ruin that as well.

Fluffy greeted her upon entering – most likely fearing his current guardian wasn’t coming home – but made no judgement otherwise about her disheveled appearance. Feeling even more guilt, Amaranai leaned down and hugged Fluffy and cried into its fur. After a moment, she went to her room and started her sonic shower. She got in, sat on the floor and let the tears be washed away by the water.
