332 words; about a 2 minute read

Allydnra had finished all the check ins and had a bit of time. She thought for a moment and decided that she would work on the bis of tales she was compiling from her home.

"Computer open log Tales of Akkadia"

[Log is open]

"A long time ago, there was a beautiful island called Nahani'alliana. The island was lush and the land and the sea surrounding it bountiful indeed. The people there had all they could hope for but they were not grateful for the bounty and the land. They cursed the gods and railed that they should have more, but the gods did not listen and instead decided to sink the land into the sea.

In sea-waved Nahani'alliana
When the Low Summer eve shafts down
On the roofs, walls, and towers
Of the foundered towns,
The currents sing their songs
In green translucency beats,
And the ocean water stirs
In salt-worn casement and porch
Plies the blunt-nosed fish
With fire in his skull for torch.
And the ringing tones resound;
With tunes of unearthly but lovely sweep,
In lament of the music they make
In the sullen courts of a land asleep
Whose marble flowers bloom for naught
And—lapped by the ring rised-guiled tide—
Tell of the of the lost land and the people
Whose gratitude for what they had was lost."

Allyndra paused then continued, "And so the lost land teaches us that we should be grateful for what we have, for in a blink it can be all taken away."

Again, she paused and then said quietly, thinking about what she said and her Gerrin that had been lost but now with Eelim come into her life. How she was grateful for what she had now.

"Blessings to the Twins and all the gods and goddesses that they see my hearts beat with joy for what I have and am satisfied."

Another pause.

"Computer strike the last line but save the rest."

[Last line struck, log is save]
