Mission: Episode 15 - Emanation
Location: USS Rush - Main Lounge
Timeline: MD -45, 1324 hrs

Having spent the past few months working with the ASDB, Grayson was getting well suited to travelling about the galaxy to different shipyards. He was mainly involved in initial power tests of warp cores, the start-up and installation of computer cores and various field trials. It was certainly an exciting time, and he was building a vast knowledge base of different ships and new techniques. It was, however, quite isolated. He missed getting to know the crew, spending time on the one ship.

The part-Trill sat in the window of the ship that was transporting him to his next assignment location. As usual, he had found his way to the lounge. There had been so many ships and systems over the past few months he was reliant on his personal PADD to point him in the right direction, Grayson wasn't too sure where his next assignment was. All that mattered right now is that he was on the right ship.

People passed him by as his attention was focused on the letter he was writing to a former professor of his,

"Hi Duncan,

Hope this message finds you well. Thought I would take some time to write a letter to touch base.

Thank you for putting me in contact with people in the Advanced Starship Design Bureau. These past few months have been full of nothing but excitement and a lot of learning. You did always say the Academy and your classes were only the starting point. You name the ship class, and I've worked on one to some extent.

My next posting has me working on a few ships, but I'll be having direct control and responsibility for one in particular. Some of the higher ups must think it is time to take the training wheels off. Ha ha...

It has been great getting to know so many people and making great contacts. Just gets a little lonely when you need to leave just as you are getting to know people and get a feel for a ship. I can see why people only spend a little bit of time here or move to this line of work when they are thinking of retiring.

Maybe when this posting is done, I'll see about trying to get on a ship again. See if anyone needs a plucky young half Trill with all this new experience.

Anyway, I actually will be back to Earth soon for a few days. We should grab lunch or something.

Take care and see you soon,

Grayson"

Hitting send on his PADD, Grayson picked himself up and went to the bar. A few of the friends he had made on this ship were gathering, and he wanted to make the most of the time he had left here before he had to move on again.
