"20 cc's of Malazine, now!" Tuula's voice echoed throughout sickbay, her anger and desperation evident in her voice.

"Warning. Patient is going into cardiac arrest."

"Thank you, computer," replied Tuula, the venom dripping from her voice as she sliced off Jaana's uniform with a laser scalpel. Quickly, she placed a couple electrodes on her chest. "Computer, begin resuscitation procedure Gamma!"

Pulling back for a moment, Tuula watched as Jaana's body convulsed due to the shocks. Her fists filled clenched with rage as she watched the life slip out of her sister's body and the charts on the display go flat. After a few seconds, though, Jaana's body stopped twitching and the automated resuscitation procedure shut down.

"Computer, continue resuscitation procedure!"

"She's dead," interrupted the EMH, placing her hand on Tuula's shoulder as she sighed in frustration. While she had thought that it wouldn't be that bad, and perhaps not quite as bad as Tuula's constant begging when she agreed to help her, this was the eighth time tonight that Tuula had taken and failed this test. "You've failed. Again."

Tuula spun herself around and glared at the EMH. "I know that!" she exclaimed, before holding her head in her hands. "I've tried everything. It's impossible. It's..."

Raising her eyebrow, the EMH stared at down at Tuula, who had seemingly froze in place. "You were saying...?"

When Tuula looked up, she was beaming with excitement. "That's it!" she exclaimed. "That's it!"

"What's it?" The EMH stood back a little, knowing that Tuula could be occasionally unpredictable.

"Thank you! Thank you so much, Shirley!" Tuula pushed herself forward and gave the confused hologram a big hug.

"I..." The EMH grimaced at the moniker that Tuula had given her, then patted her colleague on the back awkwardly and after a few unfomcortable moments, pried her arms off of her and pushed her away.

Smiling, Tuula turned towards the door of the hologram. "Computer, end program!" she shouted as she rolled out, forgetting even to shut off Shirley's program. Tomorrow was going to be a new day, one that would be the first day of the rest of her life.

As she watched Tuula roll out of the holodeck, Shirley sighed for a moment and then let out a smile. In spite of all her peculiarities, she knew Tuula was going to be a fine doctor.
