Miraj stepped into the Astrometrics lab, pink bunches bouncing and called out "Hello? Is anyone at home?" She knew there were at least three people on board who might be able to help with watch she wanted, hopefully at least one would be on duty.

Walking in from behind with a rather large mug of something warm and highly caffeinated a bleary eyed Calvin suddenly became a little startled as someone else was in the room he did not recognise. "Hi, can I help you?" the young science officer asked as he halted on his heels.

Miraj was...becalmed. The wind went out of her sails and all she could do was gape like a codfish for a moment before shutting her jaw with a click. The young man was gorgeous, breathtaking even All elegant lines and sleek...rigging. Not overly broad in the beam, like a Greet Frigate of The Line, but compact and powerful like a gun sloop or a cutter. "Er." she said, and winced at her own lack of wit.

And for the first time, Calvin no longer felt like the most awkward person in the room. He tilted his head slightly, like a puppy, allowing his hair to flop over slightly. Using his breath, the blew it off his forehead and back into its groomed position.

"Miraj" she said, still a little dazed. His eyes were beautiful, golden and honey warm, like polished brass, and his hair was dark, like well oiled oak on a ships mast. His features were sharp, and angular, he'd remind her of her brother, except Mal looked brooding, like a corsair or a barbary pirate. This man was the polar opposite. Open and golden, who'd look at home in the blue and white coat of Nelson's Navy.

"Calvin. New astrometrics officer. How can I help?" he asked again as he took a slow sip of his coffee being totally oblivious and looking a little cute as he continued to look on.

She watched his long fingers curled around the cup, and tried to find her ability to verbalise. It took longer than she hoped. "Oh, er I was after anything you had on the Celes system?"

"If you head to the console on the wall there," he pointed over with his mug hand, "you will be able to find some preliminary scan data. I can have the rest sent to you later if you wish. Sooner if you let me know what you are specifically looking for." Something was different about Calvin that morning, he was feeling particularly confident. Not as anxious as he usually would be. Shrugging it off, he headed to his main station in front of the large screen and pulled up a chair. Before sitting his mug down again he took another sip and smiled as it warmed and wakened him.

Entering the astrometics lab with a new coffee in hand, Jaana noticed they had a visitor in the lab. "Hi, I am back."

Miraj held out a hand. "I'm Miraj. I was after some data on where we're about to go."

Jaana accepted the offered hand and shook. "Jaana," she said, introducing her. "Anything specific, or is Calvin already helping you."

"No I just got here. Ultimately I want to be able to program a flight sim for it. Get a few practise landings in, see what the possibilities are in the gravity fields."

"Ok, let's see what we've got for you." Jaana said as she went over to the station in front of the holographic views screen, swiveled the chair and sat down. After accessing the requested information a moving image of the Celes system appeared in front of them. "May I introduce to you the the Celes system," she said. "With three stars, two yellow dwarf stars, who together form a close binary, and a red dwarf star." She paused a second while the viewscreen zoomed in on their destination. "Celes 3, third of the seven planets. Because of it being a triple stars system it has very variable climates. It can freeze one moment and boil the next. There are rainforrests, swamp and dessert practically next to each other."

"Sounds like a barrel of laughs." Miraj frowned. Atmospheric conditions that could change on a whim would make take off and landing interesting. "What about the gravity fields of the two stars? will they do anything interesting to the conn?" At impulse speeds, the gravity of the stars would be unlikely to affect anything with as negligble a mass as a single space ship, but it might make entering or leaving warp less smooth than for a single star, or a tighter binary.

"It has a .8 G. A little lighter then Earth."

"Thats the planet?" Miraj clarified?

"Correct"

"I meant in space, the two stars gravity fields don't interact in unusual and distructive ways?"

Jaana checked the data once more before she answered. "They act as any binary pair does."

"So," weird. Miraj though gravity was completely weird, and no matter how many times different people explained gravimetric theory to her, she still didn't get it. She knew it when she felt it, either on her herself, or her second skin fo whatever ships she was piloting, knew how to use it to best effect. But did she understand it. No. "Pretty normal space then?" she finished.

"As long as you don't do anything stupid, it should. Allthough this is the Galileo we're talking about." Jaana replied with a smirk.

Miraj frowned. "I don't follow?"

Jaana looked at the pilot for a few seconds. "Never mind. Forget that."

"Oh, okay." Miraj smiled, Could you load me up the data so I can go run it through my flight sim. Might as well get some practise in."

"Sure, no problem." she said as she did what Miraj requested. Handing her a padd she said. "Here you go."

"Thanks," Miraj beamed. "Can't wait to use this. And it was good to meet you. Hopefully we'll meet again soon?"

"I'm sure we will. Good luck with the flying." Jaana answered.
