Mission: Episode 11 - Divinum Mundi
Location: The Cavern - Europa Colony
Timeline: Episose 10 MD92 - 23.15 hours

[ON]

It was a bizarre party at The Cavern, a medium-sized club on the Europa colony, just a stone's throw from Jupiter Station. Which, for this establishment, was absolutely normal.

At the crowded bar, a number of patrons were gyrating to the blaring punk music. Their outfits were as dark as the decor, with fashions inspired by various goth, punk, and fetish influences. A DJ stood on a platform above the dance floor, waving her blue dreadlocks to the music as she laid down some tracks.

The bar was a sea of darkness and unorthodox styles. That is, except for one new entrant, who stood out like a sore thumb with her mundanity.

"See, Jaana, I told you this place was awesome!" exclaimed Tuula, decked out in a full-on cyberpunk ensemble, complete with fishnets, goggles, and fluorescent green highlights. Her sister hadn't quite nailed the look, but Tuula knew that the new Jaana would be a hit regardless.

"You and I have a very different impression of awesome," Jaana replied as she was looking around. Her face had a look of horror on it. Why did I agree to go with her? I should have known better.

"Come on!" exclaimed Tuula, ignoring Jaana's protestations. As the big sister to someone who was a little shy, she knew that sometimes she just had to drag Jaana along regardless. "Let's grab a drink. This place has great cocktails..."

Pushing herself towards the bar, Tuula got the attention of one of the bartenders, a tall, tattooed man with a pink mohawk. "I'll have a Death in the Afternoon," she said, before glancing back at Jaana who still had a reluctant look on her face. "Actually, make it two."

"Make it three," Miraj said, stepping up beside them. She had found something to wear that wasn't awful. Layers of net and PVC in black and lime green and neon pink made a tutu, and she was laced into a shiny black corset over a lace shrug. She'd bulkd out her pink hair with dread falls in some eyewateringly clashing colours, electric blue and neon green, held out of face with a pair of round goggles, and she was looking dangerously unbalanced on enormous platform boots laced around her ripped fish net stockings, her suspender belt on clear display. She turned to Tuula. "Thanks for the invite."

"You're welcome!" exclaimed Tuula, admiring Miraj's outfit. To her, it was the epitome of style. "I didn't realize you liked absinthe cocktails."

Miraj blinked bright blue eyes at her. "I like alcohol!"

Jaana stared at the drink in front of her and then looked at her sister with a questioning look on her face. "Are you kidding? Absinthe, didn't they prohibited that?"

"Only on Earth," replied Tuula with a dismissive wave, countering her sister's protestations. Jaana was always resistant to trying something new, and that had been something that Tuula had been trying to help her overcome for years, whether it was pushing her to try exotic foods or dragging her along to unusual events. "And as you can see, we're not on Earth. You'll be fine. I am a doctor, remember."

Taking a deep breath as she lifted the drink. "Here it goes," she said and then took a sip. It didn't tasted as bad as she had expected. And she also didn't drop dead right away. "I've had worse from you," she said to her sister who was looking at her very curious.

"Yay!" exclaimed Tuula, waving her arms excitedly before reaching for her drink. She was going to show her sister a fun time no matter what. "It's a bit of an acquired taste," she admitted before taking a sip.

Jaana finished the rest of her drink in one sip, not expecting it to go to her head right away. She grabbed hold of the counter as she tried to overcome the sensation. When she was seeing clear again she ignored the chuckled of the other woman and said. "So, can I now please have a normal drink. A wine, for example." She never drank mix drinks like the one her sister had gotten her. Not for any special reason, she just like wine more.

"No no no," Miraj said, "In a place like this you don't drink...wine." Grinning at the bad joke she leaned over the bar. "Bloodbath for the lady!" she practically had to scream to be heard over the music, then turned back to Jaana. "You'll like it though. It has wine in it."

"Yay! Bloodbath!" exclaimed Tuula. It was one of her favourite cocktails, though she was still working on her Death in the Afternoon -- and was amazed that her sister had finished off an entire absinthe cocktail in one gulp. "You know," she whispered to Jaana, "I think that cute Bajoran at three o'clock is checking you out."

Feeling she didn't have a chance with these woman she accepted let it pass and hoped the drink tasted reasonable. This drink, however, she would drink slower, as she wouldn't be getting the drink she did want anyway.

"Well, Jaana, what will it be?" asked Tuula, glancing over at the dark-haired Bajoran with several facial piercings and visible tattoos, "If you aren't interested, I might make a pass at him."

Jaana rolled her eyes at her sisters comment. "Go ahead," she tried to say without any sarcasm. "I might have had life changing therapy, but my taste in guys hasn't changed, you know." She looked at the other patron her sister was trying to set her up with and said boldly. "He's definitely not my type. I don't think we ever had the same taste in men. Why do you think that has changed all of a sudden."

"A change is as good as a rest," Miraj pointed out. "And he is cute. Come on." Miraj had played wingman for her brother for years, and she knew all the tricks. She grabbed Jaana's hand and hauled her over to the cute Bajoran.

"Hi!" she gave him a beaming smile, "Have you met Jaana?!"

And then she vanished heading back to Tuula, leaving Jaana with the cute Bajoran.

"And they are Miraj and Tuula." she replied, deverting the attention from herself. "Are you being set up with visitors often?" She asked the Bajoran. "You know, Tuula. I think he fits your type perfectly," If they could play this game, so could she.

The Bajoran smirked back at Jaana and gently placed a hand on her arm. "But I'd rather find out more about you," he said in a warm tone. "You're attire is very... interesting. And unusual. Do you come to places like this often?"

"No, never," she said as she shook his hand of her arm and took a step back. "My sister does, as you can see."

"I see," replied the Bajoran, glancing over at Tuula then back towards Jaana. "I must say, you are the most fascinating woman in this place. My name is Kala Anjar. May I buy you a drink?"

"If you also get a drink for my friends, then sure why not." Why were they setting her up with someone that was so not her type. Her sister should know he wasn't her type. He was Tuula's type, and in all their life they'd never been interested in the same guy.

"Bartender, a round for these lovely ladies," called out Kala before his focus returned to Jaana.

In the background, Tuula, seeing the interaction and assuming things were going well, locked eyes with her sister and gave her a big smile and a thumbs up. She was so proud of Jaana, and how she had overcome so much to not just get back out there, but to reel in one of the most attractive guys in the bar.

Miraj turned to Tuula. "Well that's her sorted!" she shouted over the music. "Your turn!"
