Mission: Episode 10 - Symposium
Location: USS Galileol, Bar/Tyrion's quarters
Timeline: MD65

ON:

Doyle still stung from the swift blow to the jaw he received not too long ago and while the discussion between he and Tyrion was getting heated, it was a far cry from acts of physical violence in his mind. 'That hopped up Betazoid creep is off on one,' he thought, 'jealous that I know more about my best friend of years than he does of a partner of weeks. I can't wait for Grayson to find out and have this as the final nail in the coffin that is their relationship.'

The bartender had a good mind to call security over it...if it was a busy bar night he would have to. So why not for a calm morning. Jumping behind the bar he went to the nearest wall console that was usually used to play music and control the lighting. After a few button presses he opened up a com channel.

=^= "Lieutenant Benice? This is Doyle down in the bar. If you have a few moments I'd like to report an incident." =^= He hoped for a response.

It took a moment for Gyce to place the name before she recalled that he managed the bar. Typical flatfoots were on call for bar brawls, but the tone in his voice suggested this was not a typical drunken dispute.

=^= "Is there a situation that needs security containment, Mister Doyle?" =^=

It was a fair question. Gyce needed to know if she should bring a detail or not.

=/\= "Not too long ago I was assaulted by an off duty officer. We had a bit of a heated discussion, the result of which left me with a fist to the jaw, leaving a substantial cut also. I barred him from the bar and decided not to hit a man holding a child. I wish to make a formal complaint/report...whatever it may be. =/\=

=^= "Have any recordings of the bar incident ready. I'll be there in five, Mister Doyle." =^=

Gyce did not sound too pleased when she got off the line. Her arrival to the bar was timely, however. She always took her duties seriously. And this was a case, that for the first time had nothing to do with sex.

"Shall we talk about this in your office, Mister Doyle?" Gyce asked as she pulled out a PADD and surveyed the lounge with her eyes.

"Well, if you want to step behind the bar, that is pretty much the only office I get. I managed to find the security recordings and have them lined up. Admittedly the discussion got heated and I take acknowledgement and my responsibility in it, but as you can see, Tyrion did throw a punch while not being physically threatened nor in a need for self defence," Doyle added as he stepped behind the bar to a console and began to play the footage he had found.

Gyce pursed her lips as she looked at the recording on her PADD as she followed. Not a silly sexual-related matter like other cases. But an incident of passion, nonetheless.

The Bajoran got the impression this Grayson fellow might of been more to Doyle than just a friend, given the sheer level of animosity of the argument. Being a third wheel was also not an easy thing. There was honestly just too many allegations on both sides of the argument to pick a clear side. Luckily, she was not a couple therapist.

After watching the tape a second time, Gyce felt ready to question Doyle. On paper, it looked like several times Doyle wanted to leave Tyrion's presence. That suggested the barman knew things were not likely to become better. Good intentions or not, Tyrion punching the barman, was the aggressor... That did not bode well for the Intelligence chief.

"So Ensign Faye wished to settle an unresolved difference regarding your shared relationship with Mister Grayson... You wished to leave but stayed upon Ensign Faye's insistence. Mutual harsh words were exchanged, and then Ensign Faye hit you?" Gyce asked, to make sure she was on the same page.

"That he did, Lieutenant. He pushed for a discussion, he was given one. I'm not one to not be straight and up front with people, doesn't bode well in this line of work to just be a 'yes man' 'cause that's not what people are looking for," Doyle stood firm and grabbed a fresh cold cloth for his wound.

Gyce looked at the place of impact on his face. It was not a pretty site.

"Seeing as how most everyone are on shore leave, I can impose a temporary restraining order on Ensign Faye to be more than ten feet from you at all times." Gyce sighed, stood up and shook her head. Crimes of passion were always difficult to sift through. "When the command staff return, I'll schedule a disciplinary hearing on your behalf, if it is your wish to press charges upon Ensign Faye for Third Degree Assault."

"That would be great, thank you," Calvin said feeling a little smug.

"I would like to add... It might be best if you try to avoid him, no matter the outcome," Gyce pointed out with caution while she saved a copy of the recordings to her personal computer before she stood up to leave. "Unless Mister Grayson returns, I don't see this quarrel being settled with 'He Said, She Said' defenses... Computer, Locate Ensign Fay."

"Oh, I plan to, don't worry about that," Doyle snorted, "I've banned him from the bar."

=^= Ensign Faye is on deck two, Room 3216 SO. =^= The computer's feminine voice replied.

Gyce bid Doyle a good day before she packed up her things and found her way to the turbolift. Once she rode it to deck two, she roamed the halls with an earpiece playing the audio feeds from the bar.

Once she found Faye's quarters, she hit the chime and waited for entry.

Sighing irritably, Tyrion spun towards the door, praying Dania would remain asleep after all the trouble he'd gone through to get her to sleep. "Come," he called out, the irritation audible in his voice.

"Ensign," Gyce greeted as she entered his quarters. She took in his place to see if any weapons were laying about. Anything amiss. The typical quick-scan cops were trained to do as they entered a home alone.

"I trust you know why I am here," Gyce finally spoke conversationally as she finally settled on him.

Security arriving less than two hours after an incident, of course Tyrion knew. "Yes ma'am," he replied, keeping his voice down, while casting an anxious look towards the bedroom. "I know why you're here. He's pressing charges then?"

"Yes. Until the Command Staff have returned, however, the charges cannot be processed," Gyce explained in an nonaccusive manner. "Bad part about the fight, is that it was done in a public area. So the evidence is stacked against you. That being said, I'm here to issue a restraining order until such time as a disciplinary hearing is set by the Command Staff."

"I'm not going anywhere," Tyrion replied seriously, then shrugged. "It was wrong, and I'm not denying it. I didn't plan to strike him...it just happened. I'll just plan my meals for when he's not there, it's no issue for me."

"He banned you from his bar in general," Gyce explained. "I don't think you can go there, regardless.. But I am instituting a ten foot ban from each other, just in case you come across each other away from the bar."

"I've no intention of confronting him in any fashion," Tyrion said, "but I do have to feed my child, And I can't be expected to avoid others who do go there. I can only make sure I go if he's not there."

"I believe the mess hall and your personal food replicator can give you the essentials you need," Gyce spoke sympathetically. "But as your accuser manages the bar, he has to right to refuse service. And until he lifts that ban, you cannot enter."

"Which is probably never..." Tyrion shrugged. "I don't drink anyway, so might as well stick to the mess then."

"I'll not take much of your time then," Gyce nodded. "I hope everything eventually settles with you and Mister Doyle, all the same."

"Look...I wasn't looking for a confrontation. All I wanted was to clear the air so that there wouldn't be any issues between him and me. It obviously had the opposite effect. I'm not going to seek him out in any fashion again, there's no talking to him."

"That's probably wise," Gyce agreed and headed out the door. "I do hope things settle down, regardless.."

"So do I ma'am," Tyrion replied, "and let's just hope it...just blows over. I'm not interested in making this any bigger than it is."

"I bid you a better day then," Gyce nodded and showed herself out.
