Location: Starfleet Headquarters, outside of Temporary Quarters
Timeline: MD 8, 0500

ON:

Teth managed to stave off vertigo enough to stumble into the hall. He was relieved that the lights were more dim than during working hours. He was still in a state of panic from the sudden flood of memories, he knew he was at Starfleet headquarters, but some small voice in him insisted it was the winding dark streets of an alien city. Was it retinitis or the sound of a drill at the side of his head? If it was a drill it would explain the pain and the sensation of blood on his skin.

He gripped the wall, but moved as quickly as he could. He hadn't bothered to get dress or take his com badge. For a moment he thought he must be a humorous sight to behold. A 6'5 almost-black caitian stumbling through Starfleet headquarters in his underwear. desperately trying to find a turbolift.

Minding her own business as she made her way through Starfleet headquarters, still dressed in her uniform of teal, Abbey was quickly taken by surprise when she witnessed a half dressed Caitain stumbling through the corridor. At first wondered if she could have laughed out loud but just as quickly it appeared the the caitian seemed in distress. "Excuse me?" She called out down the corridor where the caitian was about fifteen meters away.

Miir jumped back and just stared at the human woman, stunned. Then he looked at the walls, the same hideous mauve paneling he had been starting at for his entire stay there. Everything felt like it was spinning out of control, but somewhere his training as a counselor was contributing.

"I'm on Earth. This is Starfleet headquarters. I am awaiting assignment to the USS Galileo." he said aloud to himself in an attempt to maintain what was left of his composure. But still the pain in his head persisted and he could barely make out Abbey's face.

"Where is the turbolift?"

Abbey was deeply concerned and somewhat shocked at the the events unfolding, the Caitain seemed to be having a mental break down in the middle of the Starfleet headquarters "There just this way" She pointed "Can I help you? My name is Abbey, I'm also assigned to the Galileo" She said softly in her southern Australian accent.

"Yes." he said, walking the direction in which she pointed, careful to avoid coming too close to her. "I need a doctor."

He was having some difficulty coherently forming his thoughts, so simplicity seemed better.

Abbey smiled conscious that he liked to keep his personal space "Then perhaps we go to medical?" She offered leading the way just a foot step in front. "Whats your name?" She asked. A million thing were running through her head as to how he had ended up like this.

"I am lieutenant... counselor Miir. It's just a migraine." He said, backing into the lift, still uncertain of his safety.

"So Miir" She said stepping into the lift making sure she didn't possess an immediate threat to his space "What's the matter? If its just a migraine why are you half undressed?" She asked without taking a moments thought.

"I remember everything."

He thought the statement should speak for itself, that perhaps the contents of his mind were being displayed brightly above him like an old projector film on the ceiling and he stared at the door. Eye contact felt risky.

Abbey was really confused, she had never had to deal with something like this and quiet frankly wish that she didn't have to. She never liked confronting other peoples problems especially one this severe, none the less she pushed forward. "Care to enlighten me?"

"They tortured me." he said, loosing all feeling in his face and extremities, "I guess there was some kind of paralytic agent." he shook his head slightly and narrowed his eyes, "They started by breaking my fingers, they burned me, they... kept pretending they were going to execute me but the trigger just clicked. I thought it was all destroyed, and the drill... "

The flood of words abruptly stopped and he felt paralyzed, expecting catastrophic to happen for what he had said. Instead he was deafened by a brief moment of silence which seemed to stretch for aeons.

Abbey though twice before reaching out and gently touching the fur on his arm "Its fine, You're safe now no one wants to hurt you. You can trust me" At first she wondered if this had really happened but she started to guess he had just suffered from a nightmare for sorts.

"I appreciate your help, crewman." he said, trying to sound as calm as possible.

He stood there, jaw clenched tight, feeling the terror turn into an all encompassing wave of humiliation.

"Please don't tell anyone about this." he pleaded weakly.

She smiled before returning her hand to her side "About what Lieutenant I haven't seen anything?" Abbey replied sealing the deal that she wouldn't speak a word of it. The doors to the turbo lift hissed open "Need me to accompany you the rest of the way to sickbay?" She asked.

"I... think I can find it from here. I only worked here for four years," he said mocking himself "one would think I would know the way."

Abbey couldn't help but giggle "One would think" She said pressing the command console of the turbo lift "See you around soon lieutenant" She gave a slight wave as the doors closed shut.
