ON:

Allyndra woke. The smell of sea breeze coming in off the ocean wafted the curtains and brought the scent of salt and a touch of warmth. Her whole being seemed to vibrate in a delicious way and it reminded her that no matter how good the holodeck was that it was not quite like home.

She sat up in the soft bed canopied with soft silk and framed with a dark wood carved by some of the finest artisans of the artist's Guild. It was morning and she had slept through her most favourite part of the day having arrived the day before. Allyndra always enjoyed Ring Rise and she vowed tonight if possible to watch it but right now the Twins called to her to greet them as another warm salt scented breeze tickled the curtains.

It was her namesake. Allyndra the morning breeze from the ocean and she had to admit that it competed very closely with the brilliant fire of the great rainbow that would stretch in the night sky when the Twins touched the rings that encircled her world.

She pushed the covers back and swung her legs out and put her feet in the slippers that had been provided so that bare feet and stone floor did not meet.
Standing and stretching she headed for the great double doors that would lead out onto the balcony. The knobs gleamed of wood gleamed, polished by the touch of many hands and Allyndra pushed them open. It seemed very strange to her to be in these rooms. Visitor rooms, important visitors yes, but a visitor none the less. She was Warraquim, and yet she had been relegated to rooms for non-Guild visitors. It hurt in a way that she was almost a stranger to her own home.

As Allyndra opened the doors and let the full sunshine in and breeze in and then stepped onto the balcony. The view was magnificent, affording a full view of the ocean and the Twins in Low Spring setting to be viewed. She closed her eyes and lifted her arms to implore the Lovers to not forget her and strengthen her. She knew all too well that she would be meeting with the Guild Mother and more than likely the entire Guild Council. She was their link, their eyes and ears to worlds outside the world.

Allyndra spent another few moments enjoying the simple things, the subtleness that pulled at her hearts and whispered: 'home'. Turning she headed back to the chamber and used the old fashioned bell rope. She knew it would call for younger members that the occupant of this room was up and to prepare breakfast and in her case appropriate attire. Everyone who came to any Guild House served in such a capacity in their early years while apprenticed. It was to reinforce that one had to learn humility and humbleness. That was what all were told but Allyndra knew the real reason as well was custom from olden days and reinforce that the days of the A'ksu were over.

Allyndra returned to the balcony wishing still nothing more than to jump and spread her wings but she waited and a few minutes later a polite knock on the door came and then the door opened a crack.

"Guild member Allyndra may we come in?" A feminine voice, clear and soft but with the practiced carry already asked.

"Guild member," Allyndra smiled at that. She had not heard that title in a very long time and it reminded her that she had duties here as well as to her new guild called Fleet.

"Yes, please, good day to you apprentice?" Allyndra turned.

The door was pushed open and one fertile male and one female entered. The male had the tray with a selection of fruit and drink while the female carried over her arms garb.

The male made a deft bow at the waist with the tray held out steady and the female a practiced curtsy. Allyndra noted that, these were advanced apprentices and spoke that she was being afforded the same as a high Guild member.

"I am Apprentice Andria and this is Apprentice Regin, Guild Member Allyndra." They both held their poses and would until they physically could not or she gave them permission by responding. Allyndra quickly did the later.

"Thank you. May the Twins Bless." Allyndra said with her own slight dip.

The two busied themselves for a few more moments setting the tray and cup on a small table in the room while the other laid the clothing out on the bed.
They both then made their courtesies and responded in kind, "May the Twins Bless," before leaving and gently closing the door.

A half hour had nearly passed according to the chronograph, she had another hour to be at the Guild Mistress' office. The tray held typical fare of blood flower fruits and a cup of necture. She took a fruit and bit into it and the burst of flavor in her mouth reminded her of just how different real from replicated was.

Though she wanted to suddenly consume the entire portion given her she refrained. Time would not be on her side and it had been a long time since she had worn the traditional wear of her home.

That she would have to re-master quickly for every detail would be scrutinized to see if she was still Akkadian or had forgotten too much.
