Victarion sipped his tea as he moved one finger over the padd, scrolling down the reports he was comprising to one simple one for the Captain. It was just the various department updates...not the away teams, as they were far more important so she needed to review them personally. His dark hair fell into his forehead and he ran his tongue over his lower lip as he thought, before highlighting a section to move to the report.

"Victarion? Victarion, is that you?" Siren Hex narrowed her eyes as she leant forward from where she'd just walked into the mess. "It ~is~ you!" she shouted, waving her hand over her head before moving over to him with a bright smile. "You get a transfer? Last time I saw you, you were still on the Charleston!"

He looked at her with surprise, taking a breath as he stood. "Siren..." he smiled as he moved to her, hugging her tightly. "Siren, you look amazing! How have you been?"

"Well, well," Siren smiled warmly, watching the man fondly. The gentle Yeoman had been a friend back on the Charleston. She'd never known such a gentle soul. "And you?"

"All good, thank you," he said as he smiled, touching her cheek gently before motioning to the table. "Will you join me? I'd love to hear what brought you here?"

"Just a routine transfer," Siren shook her head with a smile, pulling the chair to sit close to him. "How about you?"

Victarion smiled as he sipped his drink, searching her face. "The Captain saw it best if I got transferred."

"Why?" she asked with surprise, searching his innocent looking features. "You were always his right hand man."

Victarion chuckled, nodding weakly before searching her face. "Until we went out on shoreleave and he got in trouble...and I didn't use my phaser."

Siren frowned at that, holding her breath. She knew his culture was very different. That he was a pacifist. "What happened?"

He took a breath and turned the PADD off, leaning closer as he held her eyes. He didn't lie to people. He didn't believe in it. "He was picking something up. For his rooms. It was a civilian market, dark...it did not feel right. I knew it wasn't going to go well. He started an argument with the seller and the seller pulled a knife. He had made me wear a phaser when we went. I couldn't reach for it. So I threw myself between them."

"You took the knife for him," Siren whispered with awe, shaking her head before letting out a long breath. "Makes you a hero."

"He thought it cowardly that I would do that instead of firing," he said as he smiled weakly. "I can see his point."

"I think he should be grateful that you saved his life at all after he dragged you into such a dodgy place," she shook her head with a frown, letting out a ragged breath of anger.

Victarion watched her before reaching to touch her hand. "Siren...don't let anger build. This is a better place for me..." he said and smiled warmly.

Siren smiled at the words. They were just him all over. She gripped his hand tightly, shaking her head. "You're too good for this life."

He laughed, shaking his head as he took a breath. "I hope not. I want to live for longer you know."

Siren laughed warmly, looking down as she sighed. "Well, his loss I say. I'm glad you're here."

Victarion laughed at that, his blue eyes bright as he touched her arm. "And I appreciate that...I like being here too."

"Have you had a chance to look around yet?" she asked with a small smile. "I'm told she's a techy's dream."

He laughed at the words, sitting back. "All I know is her people. I am sure she is just amazing, but you know me...I am all about the paperwork."

"Same, my job isn't all that different to yours in reality," she winked to him with a soft laugh.

He nodded, his eyes shining as he watched her. "Apart from the Captain I have to please..." he said playfully.

"You'll like her," she assured with a warm smile, leaning down on her forearms against the table as she thought fondly about Lirha.

Victarion studied her for a moment before biting his thumb, his eyes shining. "Will I now?" he asked suggestively.

"Stop it," Siren laughed, pushing his shoulder. "You have such innocent features and eyes, you trick me every time."

He grinned as he watched her, with a suggestive chuckle. "You should never trust an Argelian..."

"So I'm learning," Siren gave a fond smile, leaning back as she took a breath. "You'll have to take me there one day."

"I will...you would love the pleasures," he said softly, holding her eyes as he chuckled. "The massages are lovely...four people rubbing every inch of your body."

"It sounds like heaven," Siren admitted with a sigh, shaking her head. They couldn't come from two more different places. Victarion came from a place that was full of pacifists and lived for pleasures. She came from a place that was full of violent people who lived for possession. It was probably what intrigued her so much about Victarion. How different he and his culture were.

Victarion smiled as he watched her face, taking her in. "You would love it...you would love the pampering waters too...and the women are beautiful."

"And the men? I don't like leaving anyone out, Tarion," Siren teased lightly.

"The men are alright as well," he said and shook his head, with warmth. "Although some act more like girls than men."

"Trying - not - to - comment - " she said with mock effort and not saying the obvious come back and playful jibe that came to mind.

He laughed as he kicked her under the table. "Siren! Oh, how dare you...the nerve!" he announced, but as camp as he could.

"I didn't say a thing! You insulted yourself in your own head!" she laughed, leaning down to rub her leg.

He smiled as he leant closer, his eyes warm. "Yes, but you planted the seed in my head...cheeky girl...this means you owe me drinks."

"What are you drinking?" Siren asked, already pushing herself up. She needed a drink for herself anyway after the day she'd had.

Victarion smiled gently as he watched her. "Tea," he said and grimaced. "Hopefully we can hit the proper drink later?"

"It's a date," Siren assured before moving with a smile and a definite spring in her step to fetch a tray for them.
