M'Ressa sat toying with a small writing device, twirling it between her paws. It seemed like so long ago she'd left the Galileo after her partner, one Teth Miir, disappeared without a trace leaving her with a litter of cubs growing within her.

The time away from the Galileo had given her time to think, about the future, about life, her career, the cubs she carried within. Despite everything, the Galileo was her home, where she belonged, and she wanted back. It'd taken some wrangling but she'd managed to request a transfer back aboard, but with the ship missing after exercises, she was in limbo along with various family of the crew.

And with no word from Starfleet or Federation authorities regarding Teth's whereabouts, she was in limbo there as well. M'Ressa had been in touch with his family on Earth and they'd not heard anything either. They were also suprised but happy when they found out Teth had produced a litter with M'Ressa. As was Caitian tradition, she was accepted into their clan, given a safe place when she felt the urge to nest as her time drew near.

She smiled as she thought about the furry young man she'd fallen in love with. A study in contradictions, he was large and tall but also quiet & soft spoken. A bit clumsy but his touch was tender. She missed him greatly, hoping he was okay. Their dates over tea in his quarters, their discussions about medical science, their shared aspirations, the nights spent curled up in his arms, she missed all that.
