Computer, begin log!

This is an official log to be sent to High Command following the conclusion of the NIMBUS exercises.

After our simulated engagement, the Federation task group experienced an...anomaly. Our sensors scans were limited because of our distance from the vessels, and we cannot conclusively state what occurred. However, our science officers confirmed a massive energy buildup that emanated from the Nova-class, USS Galileo. We do not know the type of particles that were emitted but it began to destabilize subspace and created a dimensional rift of some type.

The resulting electromagnetic interference was severe, and we were unable to hail the Starfleet vessels to assist despite our attempts. Our visual sensors were also distorted but were able to capture imagery of the Nova-class being pulled into the anomaly. It has disappeared and we do not know its fate. It also appears the other nearby Federation starships were affected. Two of them are now adrift and their warp reactors are offline. Our engineering teams are currently assisting and providing support.

As general of the battle group, I absolve myself, my captains, and our crews of any responsibility for the disappearance of USS Galileo. Our logs will show that the KDF had nothing to do with any technical malfunctions aboard that vessel, nor did we have any personnel aboard any of the Starfleet vessels when the incident occurred.

We will continue to assist the Federation vessels as necessary and I will report once more information has been collected. If the ship does not return, may the warriors of Galileo find their place in Sto'Vo'Kor!

End log
