Secret Confessions of a Roomie

Eva sat down in front of the recording device she'd placed across from her bed. Her roommate Taryn Galespie had a duty shift which gave Eva the space to record her personal log.

Smiling at the camera, perched on the edge of her bed, she glanced around before she began.

"It's me again. Shoreleave is finally over and this little can we call home is off to it's first assignment after getting what pretty much amounted to a complete rebuild, at least my impulse and warp systems got a decent overhaul."

"I also finally found out who my roomie is. Nice lady, bit conflicted, kinda cute. Oh yeah, and also packing some dude's child. Not sure of details but from the sounds of it, the kid was an accident. The dad's not in the picture, at least not for now. She's also a widower, and dating Chief Wyatt."

Eva frowned. "For the record I don't want that last part to sound flippant or rude towards the lady. Life happens, just look at our Chief Ops Officer Min Zhao. She's dealing with an unplanned pregnancy tho I'm glad to see that she's found a man who cares for her."

"Sounds like Taryn and Wyatt go back a ways and Wyatt's good man by all reports so he'll take care of her. She's also my roomie so I kinda feel a responsibility to her as well, friends like."

Anyways, I'd better cut this short. Taryn's due any minute." Eva paused. "In from her shift, not to give birth. That's at least six months away." Eva grinned. "I've got another impulse driver coil to overhaul this shift so I'd better figure out details. I hope they actually pulled the thing last shift, unlike the last one I repaired, which I had to pull, and overhaul."

Flicking off the recording, Eva leaned back against the wall of her bunk. There were so many things she could say into that thing and while Starfleet encouraged people to be open with the recordings, Eva found some things she couldn't admit into a recording.

Like, How do you explain to a camera that you have the hots for your pregnant roomie?
