Begin log.

It's kind of hard to believe that I've been here a week already. I've been so busy lately, I never really stopped to think about it. I thought it would be harder getting used to a smaller ship, especially after having been on the Venture. So far, I've been adjusting pretty well; the people here are great, even if some of them are a little bit strange.

There are a lot of newbies who have joined the crew along with me. I've yet to meet all of them but I hope to, eventually. All the people I've met so far have been really interesting and so far, they're all really nice. As far as I can tell, I haven't scared anyone away, so that's a good sign.

Lt. Panne, sadly, is gone. I met her when I first arrived and I had really looked forward to working with her. Oh well. Her replacement, though, Lt. Cho, is a good choice, in my opinion. I got to meet with her for a little bit, and we had a nice chat. She seems a little bit unsure of herself and maybe even uncomfortable with her promotion, but then, who wouldn't be, given the circumstances? I think she'll do fine, she just needs to get used to the trappings of her new job.

I've finally gotten cleared for duty and I just got the notes for those studies we were doing back in California, so I'm about to get started on those. (Whoever wrote up that last experiment, though, needs to be fired. Who the hell writes up an experiment like that? It reads like a toddler wrote it.) I have some help from Lt. Pendleton, so he can show me the ropes and help me get started on the research. I've never been in charge of a study like this, so I just hope that I don't screw it up.

As far as the panic attacks go, they seem to have subsided, at least for the foreseeable future. I've made plans to see the counselor at least once a week, more if I can, just to make sure nothing from before comes back to bite me. I just can't have that...stuff interfering with my work here. It's not welcome here.

End log.
