~Too formal.~

"Computer, start again."

"And don't say acknowledged. For God's sake don't say acknowledged."

"Serran, I am probably the last person you expected to hear from, the last person you wanted to hear from, but I am not sending this in a personal capacity, but in my professional capacity."

"I am now in Starfleet Intelligence. Okay, I have been for awhile, I just didn't tell you. Which was probably part of the problem."

I almost had the computer delete that last sentence, I was trying to keep it professional. But I didn't. I'm not sure why.

"I am sure you have heard by now of your father's death. I send my condolences. I know we have had our differences. Major differences, but I am sorry to hear about his passing. But that is not why I am sending you this message."

"Soren's death was sudden. Unexpected. And he died very young for a Vulcan."

"His death may not have been natural. Starfleet Intelligence is investigating. I will keep you apprised of our findings. When the timing is right. You deserve to know."

"Computer, end message."

"Serran, you may not believe me and I wouldn't blame you if you didn't. You might think, I am slipping into my old patterns."

"That's not what this is. Really. Serran, I know what I did. I know that I hurt you. As you once said, I was a dick."

"That wasn't very Vulcan of you, but it was entirely accurate."

"I think what we once had is destroyed beyond measure and can't be restored. So, I don't really expect to hear back from you. In that case, you don't have to reply to me."

"But, if there is a chance, if you are willing to start over, to give me a chance, let me know."

"Either way, I'm sorry. Sorry about Sorek, sorry about us, sorry about what I did."
