Personal Log

I’m just a bit frustrated tonight. I can’t seem to hail either my Mother nor my Father by sub-space transmission. I was hoping to be able to tell Lim-eev (Mommy) that I had received my promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade. There was no response at the residence, nor at the Ice-lake Cottage. I went ahead and left a message, of course, but it’s not the same as being able to let her know in person. Well, from my own lips and not recorded. I’m sure she will be pleased to the top of the Cathedral Palacade.

I did try to contact my Father at his Office, as well as at the house. The office staff would not answer any of my questions on his location. They were not helpful at all. I wonder if he may have been dispatched on another mission for the Ministry of Science. I did leave him a message. Well, it was more of a data dump of details, but that is actually what he seems to prefer. He doesn’t get very emotional about my accomplishments here in Starfleet. He’s not been outwardly negative to me, but just not supportive. I think he’s trying to keep a dignified image about him in these regards, so that there is no appearance of impropriety on his part. Maybe, just maybe when we are face to face and alone he will be able to be honest with me. And hopefully be approving.

I have not been given my new orders yet. The rumour here aboard Avondale shipyard is that a new class of ship has been built and prepared.
Prior to leaving on the Schofield, Captain Saalm offered me a Helmsman position on her vessel. But, at this moment, I’m waiting on official orders to report. I do hope that I get the chance to serve again with Commander Warraquim. That would definately be a outstanding circumstance.
