One step ahead...the application

Varro walked into his library and closed the door. He took a moment to look around and then headed to his desk to turn on his computer. He sat down hard in the well-worn chair. Blaze was upstairs asleep, Ilan had left and last night’s conversation with Eelim weighed heavy on his mind. He logged into his Starfleet news feed and looked over at the ships that were taking on crew.

He looked at the list again. The Valley Forge he knew and it was a fine ship. The Starbase it was linked with, 234, held an office location for his and Blaze’s business. He had no interest in the T’Kumbra nor the Geronimo. The Saratoga was a fine ship too but they had a diplomat. Voyager was…displeasing in that many considered it a cursed ship.

Varro sighed and his eyes lingered on the Galileo. Blaze and he had discussed him applying to the ship again. Blaze was against it. Varro had had enough bad memories to last him a life time but Eelim’s words from last night kept running through his mind, We never really got to start out on the Galileo, at least you didn’t. For me, before the Nebula, it was only place I ever felt as if I was at home.

Varro sighed and then pulled up his message system. He inserted his file and an application. He then looked at the list of ships and made his selection.

He typed the attached message,

Requesting reassignment to Starfleet Vessel:
SUBJECT: Interview request
TO: Commanding Officer, NCC-80010-A, USS Galileo.
I have seen that your fine ship is accepting crew. I noted that your diplomatic post is vacant and I would like to submit my dossier for your review. Along with that are my medical records and my completed application. I have other skills that may be of use to you as well as being a diplomat. I would very much like to be considered to fill the diplomatic vacancy on your ship and would like to hereby request an interview.

Varro looked over his message and then with a deep breath he hit the send button feeling at peace with his decision.
