Well, this is not at all what I had hoped for. With the Lancelot being recalled for some extensive upgrades, I knew I would be reassigned. I know it's a typical thing to have officers moved about to give them a broader scope of Starfleet. But, going from Flight Control Officer on an Excalibur Class Starship to a glorified shuttle pilot is just a bit much.

Although, I have to admit, the Lieutenant that I report to has tried very hard to assign me to larger transport shuttles. I even had the opportunity a few days ago to pilot an Aeries Class ship. That's a civilian Class vessel with about 4 decks, depending on how it's configured.

Most of the time, my assignments have been small shuttles, bringing officers or VIPs up from Earth to Space Dock and back. I have even made a few runs out to Mars and the Jupiter colonies.

In a way, I really don't mind all the simple piloting about the solar system. It's very different than piloting a Starship across the great expanses of the quadrant. There's a lot more to do and see when flying these small crafts.

I also get to use my Andorian senses a little more often. I've found that my antennae have never failed me yet, providing distance and directional clues of an impending collision. They work somewhat when on a larger ship, but I can really notice the electro magnetic pressure changes when in the smaller crafts.

I have also been touring some of the historic and artistic sites on Earth. I knew that my mother would have never forgiven me if I had not taken the time to see and learn about these 'Hu-mans'. There of course is historical locations concerning the United Federation of Planets; its founding races, its rocky beginning, those important individuals that truly made it happen.

In the next couple days I will be attending an Art Museum at Lincoln Park, near San Fransico. I think it will be a lot of the same multiculturalism, but one never knows. I actually might find something interesting.
