Geordi LaForge Obstacle Citation

This award is presented to those who have overcome a disability in order to perform their duties.

While this could be anything from being blind or deaf to being mute or missing both thumbs, this award is intended to recognize the achievements of those who have to overcome additional obstacles to get the job done. This award is for those individuals who have found clever and intriguing ways to counter their own personal handicaps in unique situations so as to equal or surpass the capabilities of able-bodied people around them.

Category: In character
Awarded: 9 times

Ensign Miraj Derani
18 Mar 2018 @ 2:35pm
I would like to nominate Miraj for this award. Working with the player over testing and life like problems of prosopagnosia and spatial recognition has been a challenge and very fun. I think it has made both of our respective players stretch over several posts. Very well done!
Petty Officer 1st Class Pieter Van Zyl Ph.D.
22 Apr 2015 @ 11:23pm
Pieter is one of those great characters that yes, has a disability, but quite frankly doesn't seem to impact his work. He is a well-written, intelligent character who is living with something that makes him different, but he just gets on with the work! It's a true testament to the writer's abilities that it seems so natural for Pieter to be the way he is without any real bitterness about it, it's just part of the situation he is in.
Lieutenant Benice Gyce Ph.D.
06 Nov 2014 @ 2:20am
Awarded for Gyce's ability to overcome her long-term leg injury while still being able to perform her duties to the fullest.
Lieutenant Tuula Voutilainen M.D.
10 Sep 2014 @ 1:32pm
Well this one is also obvious! She saved Abbey's life and hasn't stopped trying to motivate her since her accident!
Commander Andreus Kohl
09 Mar 2014 @ 9:29am
I can't wait for the mission to start so I can have my characters interact with Andreus Kohl. The character is a very genuine and authentic character. While there have't been too many posts, the ones that do come are engaging and he has done a great job in showing a character that is trying to overcome a physical limitation to return to work. It's great, and I can't wait to read more!
Lieutenant JG Kestra Orexil
04 May 2013 @ 2:15pm
It's great to see her back and in the Security department!

08 Feb 2013 @ 4:17pm
I think this one's a little self-explanatory but I think Stone is doing a great job learning to integrate with the crew given all the issues he has. Not quite there yet, but he's making the effort and I think that counts for something. Rabe does a good job realistically portraying Stone's issues.
Command Master Chief Markum Quinn
08 Dec 2012 @ 3:32pm
Awarded for overcoming his loss of an arm and adapting to a new cybernetic implant.
Chief Petty Officer Lucalin Mrina Ph.D.
07 Jul 2012 @ 10:26am
