522 words; about a 3 minute read

Location: Tyrek's Lab
Time: a few months ago.

ON:

Tyrek was holed up in his lab, working on some project or the other. Tyrion knew where to find him, somehow, ever since getting a little closer to the Vulcan, he always knew where he was. Love did that, he mused though he couldn't be certain. He hadn't seen Tyrek since a day or two now, though he knew the Vulcan had in fact visited him in sickbay. All he remembered was being brought to sickbay with a few injuries but he had little memory of how exactly he'd gotten there. He reasoned he must've been in a fight and been hit on his head because the details were extremely fuzzy.

"Tyrek!" he called out as he entered the lab. "Ty you in here? I know you're here, I can sense it."

There was a clashing sound as the Vulcan skittered back to his desk. As always he was still shying away from the Betazoid, yet still feeling drawn to him in some way. "I'm here," came the uncertain reply.

Tyrion smiled as he spotted the Vulcan, and walked towards him, reaching out with one hand. "I'm glad to see you," he said, drawing closer, drawing him closer, kissing him gently. "You know I love you, and you know I want you." His other hand drew a small knife which looked like it was just a plain kitchen knife. He pulled Tyrek close to him, their bodies touching before he brought his other hand up. The keen blade smoothly slid between the Vulcan's ribs in a downward angle, piercing his heart. Then he smashed the lab and made it look as if both of them had been disturbed in something, the Vulcan instantly killed while he had put up a fight, trying to defend them both.

It had all been neatly planned. Sensors would show a struggle, neatly put together with his computer skills, the viewer would see, what he had wanted them to see. If all went well, the one person he needed to be here, would be here soon. He needed him to touch the dagger he now held in bloodied hands, the blade smeared with green and red. Tyrion kneeled beside the Vulcan's body, making sure that he too would be covered in his blood to show he had tried to keep him alive, had tried to save him.

Genuine tears streaked down the Betazoid's face, his hands caressing the dead Vulcan's face. "I'm sorry," he whispered, "I'm so sorry."

Security entered the lab, cautiously, phasers at the ready. It was only minutes since the lab alert sounded and security was dispatched, but those two minutes seemed long enough to the officers.

An ensign went immediately to Tyrek and a petty officer to Faye. "Security to Medical," the ensign said, realizing that Tyrek was dead, but the intelligence officer was still alive. "We have a medical emergency in the science labs, prepare to receive a patient. I'll also need a coroner dispatched to my location." He broke off before there could be an acknowledgment.

OFF:

Ensign Tyrion Faye
Intelligence Officer
