Personal Log - Should we admit we are powerless?

Katja looked at the meager supply of bottles she had left. She had already procured a small bucket and had some hootch maturing in her locker, but it wouldn’t be ready in time…in time for the withdrawals?

“No, we are not having this argument again. I have this under control.” Katja groused at herself, cognizant that she was the only one currently in the shared quarters. She had more than even Rihannsu tobacco…it was just…just a small molecule…ETOH. She had sacrificed, hell, all of them had to a point. To refuse an elixir that that made life worth living-- Oh, who are you kidding, Schatze, it’s necessary at this point isn’t it?

”Mist! Das ist Schwachsinn!“ She exclaimed, throwing one of the empties into her foot locker in a fit of pique.

Alright. Think. She had access to medications, perhaps something to just...take the edge off? Not ideal, but Katja still had control over all this. Right. Okay...so gamma shift, less staff. She now had the codes. It wasn’t like she was thinking of taking the hard stuff. Just something to stave off the withdrawals a little.

"I got this. I can do this.“ She pushed herself off of her lower bunk and hissed in pain as her artificial leg protested against the movement and she felt dampness through her pant leg. Pulling her hand to her face, Katja saw the drainage was not sanguinous like expected, but was tan with red streaks...chronic rejection sure, but given this new development, had she picked up a little infection on Remidia? This was really becoming more trouble than what it was worth.

"Alright. A smoke. Then sickbay. Grab the pain meds AND the broad spectrum antibiotics.“

Ok. Not a perfect plan, but a plan. For now it was time to head to the shuttle bay for a little smokey treat. Not long before it was showtime anyway. Why, her plan of action—given all that was potentially at stake—it was practically "logical.“
