"Computer, begin personal log:" Mack commanded. The computer beeped in response, indicating that it was now recording.

"Engineer's personal log: It's been tough going these past three days since we ejected our warp core. We've been doing our best to patch up the Galileo-A with what we have, but our resources have been stretched thin.

We know the Klingons are on their way, and in the state we're currently in, my best estimates give us maybe two or three hours of combat before we're finished off. Of course, those numbers are assuming we engineers do nothing to keep the vessel aloft, which we almost certainly won't be doing... No doubt a few of us will be laying down our lives in that line of duty...

Commander Tarin has come up with some sort of plan involving the shuttles. My guess? She's ripping a page right out of the book of the Bajoran resistance: Turn a shuttle into an unmanned missile. It might buy us... Minutes, but probably won't contribute significantly to our chances of survival.

In the highly likely event that we don't make it, I wanted to say that it was an honor to serve aboard the Galileo-A, however short it was, and that when the prophets take me home, I will have lived a life fulfilled, and that I leave Bajor a free planet prior to its reoccupation by those spoon-headed bastards!

On the off chance we somehow manage to survive and return to our own time, I shall delete this personal log. If not, then let this final log stand as a testament to my legacy. End recording."
