So, here we are, only a couple days from deep space. It's been quite a journey these past few years. Becoming an attending physician, working on the Galileo, learning from Allyndra and Olsam... And watching Jaana grow, build her confidence, and get her dream job...

Sigh.

I'm going to miss her over the next couple years. I don't think I've been away from her for this long before. But maybe she doesn't need a big sister to watch over her anymore. She's a successful scientist, well on her way to becoming a professor. I'm so proud of her.

To tell the truth, I can't say I'm not nervous about this mission. We're going to be very far from home; there's not going to be much out there if we run into trouble. I know our crew can handle a lot, but still.

It's going to be great working under Allyndra again. I love the new sickbay, and it's nice to have something familiar to cling to.

Well, I best be off to bed; it's a big day tomorrow, preparing sickbay for the journey...
