Tour - Phaser Arrays
Summary
The ship's phaser arrays give the vessel substantial defensive capabilities. Though small in size, Nova II-class starships are amply armed when compared to similar frigates in their class. The phaser arrays are strips of sequentially arranged phaser emitters, and can be accessed on Decks 3, 4, 5, and 8.

Description | Phaser arrays are an arrangement of phaser emitters located in strategic areas of the ship. During the firing sequence, phaser energies travel along the emitter strip and converge at the best position for targeting. USS Galileo employs eleven Type X arrays; eight on the primary hull (two dorsal main, two ventral main, two dorsal lateral, two ventral midship), and three on the secondary hull (one ventral main and two aft lateral). |
