Exemplary Courage Medal

Officers who put themselves in grave danger by going far beyond the normal call of duty qualify for this medal.

Examples would be protecting a group of trapped/injured persons from enemy aggression; staying behind to ensure that the rest of the unit gets to safety and are not followed. NOTE: To achieve this award, the person nominated cannot simply be following their superior's orders. They must volunteer to carry out such acts. (Level 2 submission - sample post is required)

Ensign Miraj Derani
22 Jun 2017 @ 5:17pm
For her heroic actions in thwarting a mutiny on the Duja'Q.
Command Master Chief Markum Quinn
10 Nov 2012 @ 3:16pm
Sacrificing one's own physical health in order to save one's ship is amongst the greatest actions that any Starfleet crewman can make. Mr Quinn acted with selflessness and dedication in order to restore Galileo's propulsion systems to operational status with no thought to his own survival, and without his commitment, the ship surely would have been destroyed by Klingon aggressors. It is for this reason that I submit a request for Mr Quinn to receive the Exemplary Courage Award. -John Holliday, XO
