Personal History | For the first ten years of his life, Bo lived amidst the rocky crevices of Dakhur Province with his mother and two younger sisters, hiding from the conflicts arising in the final years of the Cardassian occupation of their homeworld. His father was a revolutionary; it wasn't until later that Bo learned the full extent of what his father had done to save their homeworld and he still questions the morality of those decisions, despite the end result. He turned ten two months after Bajor was officially 'freed', but there was still a lot of ground to cover. Rebuilding infrastructures and structures alike. Bo's family moved to a small village called Klaven just outside the monastery of Roshariin. He grew up working the soil there, content with the fact of the renewed potential for peace on his homeland and the joy that gave his parents and the others around him. More and more, he was drawn to Roshariin by the sounds of song and klavion. He would walk the perimeter of the monastery regularly, stepping lightly from stone to stone, and hum along with the chants he could hear over the walls. Eventually, his behavioral fascination was noticed and he was invited inside. First just to take intermittent casses, then as his skills began to shine, more and more until he was an initiate. He spent many years training there, named Ranjen and then Prylar by the local Vedeks, and there was a great future seen for him within the ranks. But Bo wanted to heal more than spirits. He wanted to be of use to the physical form as well as to the pagh. His interest was accepted and encouraged by the Vedeks and he was sent to the city of Fereles to train in medical techniques. It was there that he met his first Starfleet officers and began to think for the first time of a life beyond. For the next few years, he traveled Bajor's surface, touching those he could with patience and healing, but his eyes were drawn inexorably to the stars again and again. Following the internal compass that had always served him, Bo enlisted with Starfleet with the approval and encouragement of his elders in the order and scuttled off into the universe. |
