USS Galileo :: Join

Join the Game

Thank you for your interest in Galileo. Over the past ten years we have become the leading standard of quality online Star Trek RPGs. Our application process is streamlined to help new players quickly join us while ensuring a cohesive fit with our existing writers. Please review this process in its entirety. Applications are broken into three phases, described below:

The first step in your application process is to submit your personal information including name, email address, date of birth (to ensure you are not a minor) and an account password with which to login. You may also include any social media (Discord) handles you use if you desire to join our chat server.

A full character biography must then be submitted with all fields fully completed. Character biographies generally take several days to create so please take your time before finalizing your submission. If you have any questions about a bio field or are unsure what it means, please contact the game masters or refer to an existing character bio already on the manifest.

An original sample post is also required (500-1000 words) in which you'll role-play one of four given scenarios on your own. We love meeting new writers and seeing their literary styles, and this allows us to get a feel for your strengths and weaknesses. Storytelling, spelling, grammar and punctuation are atop the list of quality writing skills we value.

Following initial application submission, the game masters will contact you via email within 24 hours to review your character biography and provide feedback. This is also a chance for us to get to know you and answer any questions you may have about the game and its structure. We'd like to know who you are, what (if any) prior experience you have in traditional and online role-play, as well as your hobbies and interests.

The final application phase consists of your character application approval, website and mailing list orientations, mission briefing, player introductions, and your first posts on the game. Onboarding typically takes one week during which you will learn the layout and operations of the ship, the names of other characters and their writers, and become familiarized with our current primary plots and subplots. It will be a lot of information to assimilate, but you are now a member of Galileo and your journey is just beginning.

Player Agreement

All players are expected to abide by the game rules at all times, both in-character and out-of-character. By continuing, you agree that you have read and understand Galileo's Rules and Regulations and affirm that you will conduct yourself in a proper and respectable manner.

In addition, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we do not accept players under the age of 18. Any players found to be under the age of 18 will be immediately removed. By agreeing to these terms, you are also affirming you are a minimum of 18 years old.
