The observation lounge is a recreational area aboard USS Galileo where the crew go to unwind and relax. Being one of the largest rooms aboard the starship, it can also used for large crew functions and special events, including diplomatic functions.

Description The observation lounge is a special room primarily devoted to crew leisure and special events/gatherings. Many go to the observation lounge simply for the view, but it can also be used as a meeting place for the ship's senior staff. The room spans a large area within the aft section of Deck 5 behind the secondary cargo bay and below the main shuttlebay. There are a series of five viewports composed of transparent aluminum spanning from close to the floor to up along the angled ceiling, which allow a view of the cosmos from the rear of the ship.
