Weekly Update

Hello crew,
It has fallen to me this week to deliver the highly anticipated, electric weekly news update as we move into the final week of November. (I hope all the lads have got their 'taches on for Movember - and some of the ladies, maybe. We don't discriminate here - and are sporting some serious seventies facial hair on their upper lip by now! If you haven't got something that even remotely resembles a fluffy caterpillar, and you are taking part in Movember, then you might want to accept defeat and consider that, after twenty one days, if you haven't got it, you ain't never gonna. Some people just aren't gifted with the power of the sculpted beard!)
There's actually nothing major to report this week. Everything seems to be ticking along smoothly, and I think that all of us can agree that we're enjoying all of the character development that we're churning out over this shoreleave interim. Interrogations, demotions, Mott, cloak and dagger stuff. It's really fascinating to see how everyone's joining forces and coming up with some great work. It makes serving with you all a pleasure.
The one sticking point is just to remind you to start considering your end of month personal logs and Crew Award nominations. You still have a week or so to submit them so there's no need to start submitting them just yet. Just have an idea that that monthly Yahoo! reminder will be on its way shortly. But just a point about this too. You don't need to wait until the end of the month to use the Personal Logs format. They're a great way to bridge your character's history and also exact a change of pace. Writing in a first person present narrative can really connect you with your creation in ways that, sometimes, third person past just can't. I love delving into Stace's rich past that way (and granted, platying a Trill, I have a wealth of history to toy around with) and it's also exciting to switch gears every now and again. Just something to think about. I've read some great PLs over the time I have been here and it really adds something to the plot and development of a character.
Well, that's all from me for this week. Enjoy your weekend, guys! And don't forget, especially if you've just joined the Gally, we're a friendly bunch. And all active players are more than receptive to a Joint Post nudge. So don't be shy...
Cheers!
Shaun/Stace
