Weekly Update

Posted on 28 Feb 2014 @ 11:37am by Rear Admiral Lirha Saalm

Hi gang, we're moving right along on schedule and I'm pleased to see us making good progress for the end of shore leave. Tomorrow I will be bringing the new mission online which will begin with our departure from Earth, and I will simultaneously be starting our senior staff briefing which is set IC only a few days after we launch. In addition, there will be a quick round of promotions for those of you who have participated for the majority of shore leave, and those JPs will also be started. Basically just look for a bunch of new JPs in your inboxes :D

For those of you who have not experienced a mission change on Galileo before, there will be a slight overlap of 2 weeks while both missions are active and remaining shore leave JPs are finished and posted. Starting tomorrow, no new shore leave posts may be started, but the remaining ones which are already in progress can continue until they are finished and posted on the website. We have about 45 pending shore leave posts still in progress, so I'll give everyone ample opportunity (2 weeks) to finish all of them. That makes the deadline for all shore leave JPs Friday, March 14th.

**Important** == Please note that while two missions are simultaneously online, you must be very careful to select the correct mission to post in when you are in the Write Mission Post screen. There will be a drop-down menu near the top which will allow you to select either Episode 05 or Episode 06, so please be careful and diligent about which mission you are posting in. ==

Nest, as many of you have seen by now, we have a new player who joined us earlier this week. I'd like to officially welcome:

ENS Dasha Solari, Biochemist

Congratulations on your new assignment and welcome to Galileo! Dasha is a part of Science & Research division, and I'm very happy to have her with us.

A couple quick housekeeping items, please remember that today is the deadline for personal logs and monthly Crew's Choice Award voting. If you have not already (except for our newest players who are exempt), please take care of both obligations before the end of the day. Also, our new deck listing and ship tour are now online, so please give it a good read. Please note that we are no longer using the Nova Class deck listing found in the Obsidian Fleet Ship Database, and we instead have a customized and more realistic deck listing. Several important areas on the ship such as crew quarters, sickbay and the astrometrics lab have changed decks, so please make sure to take note of the changes.

Lastly, in reference to crew quarters, today is the deadline for all PC and PNPC crew quarters requests. Zhao and Hudson (PNPC Mott) are taking care of the assignments, so please contact them with any requests before they forward me the final list at the end of the day.

That's all I can think of for now...happy simming!

-Jay
