Weekly Update

Hi all, I'd like to start by wishing all of my American friends a very happy and wonderful Thanksgiving Day. I hope those turkeys are basting and the stuffing is being seasoned... And of course...gravy everywhere!!

We've had a very productive week of simming which now has us at our endgame. Look for that all-crew JP to appear in your inboxes within a few hours, and let's get ready to get our ship repaired and depart the Setisar system. Shore leave awaits!

A couple important notices this week; First, we have quite a few people on E/LOA at the moment. These include Shi (Kita), Jen (Barel), Psylus (Amril), Matt (Cho), Patrick (Pendleton), Allie (Fleming), and Kasey (Jacrux). Please be patient while they return to the sim.

For those of you who are still active, a final reminder that personal logs and Crew's Choice Award votes are due by Saturday (30th), so be sure to get those in on time. In addition, any content submissions for our newsletter are also due by the 30th as I hope to have the first edition of the reboot ready to post in the beginning of December.

As you have all probably seen by now, we have two new players who recently joined us. Please welcome:

LTJG Min Zhao, Asst. Chief Operations Officer
LTJG Olsam Mott M.D., Asst. Chief Medical Officer

Congratulations on your new assignments and welcome to Galileo!. Both Min and Olsam will be hanging around Earth for the next couple OOC weeks while we finish up our current mission and the ship makes its way back to Earth.

Also, a quick mission update: MD 10 is now open to begin writing. Please do not post after 2200 hrs on MD 10 because that is the time of our final endgame post, and will also signify the end of the mission. This is also an official two-week warning that our current mission will be ending on December 14th. Please begin to start any final JPs you want for the current mission, and begin to wrap up any pending ones sooner rather than later.

Lastly, a new wiki page has been created titled the Promotion Guide. With the end of the mission fast approaching, promotions are also coming up soon for those who participated in the majority of Episode 04. For those who are curious to see how promotions are handled and what the criteria are, please visit this wiki page and read through the contents to get a general feel for how the system works. We (the CS) are generally very simple with our promotion criteria...as long as a player keeps up their activity and follows our posting rules, writes with other writers, and doesn't cause any OOC drama, there's a good chance their characters will be promoted. Easy, huh? :)

Well, that's all for now! Happy simming and have a happy Thanksgiving!
-Jay
