Important Reminder - 18+ listing

Ladies and Gents,

I feel that given some of our more recent posts I need to remind all members of the Galileo's crew exactly what we mean when we say the sim is rated as 18+.

When we applied for this increase in rating from our earlier 15+, Jay and I both decided and informed the entire crew at the time that we were not applying for it so that we could start writing an adult novel.

The entire purpose of the upgrade was to allow us to expand upon plot points that otherwise might be made impossible by our rules and regulations - for example in Episode 1 we used it to allow the torturing of hostages by the Klingons as an authentic method within that culture of obtaining intelligence, and in Episode 2 to show the emotional turmoil that our beloved captain was going through as a side effect of that torture as an authentic representation of the actions of her species.

I would like to take this moment to remind all members of Galileo's crew that the 18+ rating is still only there for this purpose. Actions that would not happen authentically within the Star Trek world should not be written as an excuse to write more adult material.

Any and all violations of this rule which is detailed in the shipboard manuals throughout this site will be investigated by Jay and myself, or indeed if any complaint is received from another member of the crew. Should we find that the rules have been breached, we will take appropriate action up to in extreme circumstances, the deletion of a player from the sim and the downgrading of the Galileo back down to a 15+ only environment.
