Personal History Logan Miles was born on April 12, 2362 on Earth. Specifically, Nova Scotia in the Eastern far region of Canada - North America.

His family can be traced back to Roman ancestry. When growing up his family had continued to relish in the idea of serving, honor, and to ones duty. Serving and providing service to something greater than oneself. Logan is the only child so his parents greatly enshrined these ideas heavily. His father, Julius Miles, served and retired Captain of the Ambassador ship, USS Drogon. His mother, Amanda Leonard-Miles, was Chief Medical Officer of Star base 19. She administered the sector's medical unit for bio hazardous research and treatment. This was one of the tenements of Logan's interest in microbiology and virology.

When he was young and growing up, Logan would be split twice a year between his parents. He was never interested in commanding a vessel and providing escorts to diplomatic missions. He find what his mom did much more interesting. Living life by a single piece of glass - a bio-hazard suit. The science labs, medical labs, the treatment of individuals sick and injured, he gained so much interest in the biology of others and the direct help in the field that he had decided to go to Star Fleet Academy and Med school.

Both his parents retired in the same year and both went back to Nova Scotia to settle down. In the same year, Logan joined Star Fleet Academy and both his parents provided him valuable information and experience to help him succeed. Unfortunately both his parents would later in the same year of retirement die in a transportation accident heading to France for vacation. The shuttle malfunctioned crashing into the Atlantic Ocean. No survivors. Upon hearing it the news Logan had to withdraw from Star fleet Academy in order to tend to the funeral and settle his parents estate. He thought it useless to keep the property around. He wasn't one to stay in one place for very long.

During the year off from the Academy, Logan did stay at his Parent's house until another owner could be found. He read and researched the different sciences and information available to him from his parents. He thought it would give him better insight into the career of medicine and science. Upon his research he learned that his mother, Amanda, was working with other Star Fleet Medical experts on developing in her own words, "the cure for everything". He further read in her journals and case notes the thousand or so patients she has seen and cared for over her 20 year career. The suffering, the anguish that she has experienced. A young 12 year old boy who developed type-3 small pox. A Starfleet Captain who came in contact with the phage, a new infection that has just reached the Alpha Quadrant from the Delta. A whole entire village died at the hands of a terrorist with a small amount of luma respiratory syndrome. The "cure for everything" project has been in development for sixty years with his mother coming on in it's 50th anniversary. He knew it's mission was impossible but admired the work.

He knew joining Starfleet was bigger than himself. However, he knew joining Starfleet as a doctor or researcher was something better. The countless voyages. The endless resources. All of the people he could help even if they were small forms of help. He knew he needed to continue her work and continue the journey so many before him started. He would never end the journey but he would join and be apart of it.
Starfleet History In 2381, Logan attended Starfleet Academy again. He excelled in subjects like biology, chemistry, living sciences, and math. Upon graduation, he achieved an overall 3.98 GPA and came in 5th in class. He was not aiming to be the best. He was not aiming for the highest GPA or getting straight A's in class. It came with his interest and dedication to the field and his major. He loved it. The science behind everything living. He also achieved two awards for 'Academic Excellence' awards while a student. Both for excellence in biology.

After the Academy he did not go directly into Starfleet. He decided to get his Doctorate in Microbiology. While in school, he founded the school's fraternity medical group "The Guardian". He facilitated entrance to those who excelled in the fields of biology, microbiology, anatomy. The group's focus was to be the think tank of current medical issues at the time. Providing a young, fresh focus and perspective to these issues and providing the medical field with theories and possible solutions. The group was an attempt to assist the medical field where those already in the medical field did not seek help but relied on their own knowledge and perspectives. Most of the Professor's and outside sources felt they were just playing medical committee but most of the suggestions afforded were utilized to certain degrees. This proactive approach to committee research and team work was noticed by the board of the school and had awarded the group with an actual space to meet on campus (rather in the dorm rooms) and awarded Logan with the Frank Macfarlane Burnet Service Award for diagnostic and research excellence and encouragement of amateur efforts in the field of microbiology.

Logan achieved his Doctorate in 2390 in Microbiology with a Masters in Biology. He received a position as an Assistant Professor at Starfleet. He took a keen interest in the topics of virology, bacteriology, and the study of infectious diseases. He believes that in modern times, these deadly enemies of life are underestimated and Starfleet needs good doctors who specializes in these types of potential events that occur. Even with the continued advanced of technology, biology can evolve.

Logan has worked on several of the many deadliest viruses ever existed. He has field tested cures for the Mars Lanta and Merberg 3 viruses. He has been apart of the research and analysis teams during an outbreak of the Monaly Virus on Marine Outpost Echo on Solaria III. It is a virus that destroys the muscles, breaking them down, until one is incapable of moving. It is compared to acid dissolving the insides from the inside out. Record killing time: 10 minutes.

Logan has now requested an assignment in deep space in order to further advance his experience and knowledge to the outer reaches of space. He believes the lack of medical resources for infectious deceases are lacking further out of the inner planets and he can apply his medical experiences and knowledge much more effectively with greater impact.
Medical History Logan is a very healthy individual at his current age of 31.

He has never had any physical injuries other than the occasional sprain, cut, cramp and common cold.
