| General Overview | Tulkas often remarks that if he had a starship for every time he was told 'You're not like other Denobulans', he'd be able to rule the galaxy. Truthfully, he's more like other Denobulans than he recognises. Loyal, dedicated and utterly absorbed with the idea of learning, his differences lie in his slowness to warm to others. He is naturally suspicious of strangers, although he never shows it within the rigid structure of Starfleet. Tulkas is passionate, opinionated and can on occasions lack patience, something he disguises behind a facade of professionalism punctuated with wit and sarcasm. |

| Personal History | Tulkas Eido was born in what would be considered a normal Denobulan family unit. His mother Maia taught nursing in a local school, and his father Samlar was a Xenobiologist in Starfleet. Denobulans are known for their patience and understanding, particularly around relationships. It came as a shock to everyone when his parents announced that they were separating, something that affected Tulkas deeply. He'd always had a keen mind for science, and missed his father greatly. When the news came that Samlar had died in the line of duty, Tulkas was distraught. He blamed his mother for driving him away and left home, opting to lose himself in his studies. During his time away from home, he joined many activist groups, among them 'Monogamy First', a group attempting to change the Denobulan society to one that values monogamy over polygamy. Being a Denobulan without family made life for Tulkas hard, and gave him a cynicism that few Denobulans possess. Eventually, after years of study, he applied for Starfleet Academy, specialising in Exobiology. |

| Starfleet History | In keeping with his years of self imposed exile, he made few friends in the Academy, although those he did make describe him as fiercely loyal and dedicated. The Academy fostered an interest in Command in Tulkas, his skills at being able to step back and consider a situation giving him an decided advantage. Rather than switching a full Command course however, he opted to continue with his scientific studies, and took an extension course after graduation to give him something to build Command experience upon. With his studies finished, he was placed aboard his first vessel, the USS Tigran, as it completed a lengthy exploration and mapping expedition that lasted 2 years. Proving himself useful, Tulkas toured with the ship again for another 2 years, this time earning himself a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade halfway through the tour. Upon the completion of the tour, Tulkas was recommended to serve aboard the USS Galileo, his CO feeling that the ship would provide a more challenging atmosphere for the young Denobulans officer skills to develop. |
